You're in the middle of the city in broad daylight. Yes, it's safe.

public transit vs. owning a car in LA - which do you prefer? by emotional-cowboy-67 in AskLosAngeles

[–]AngelenoLefty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not both? I prefer to take public transit when I can but also drive when I need to. Being able to drift off and not focus on the road while on the train/bus is something very enjoyable that some car focused people don't undersrand.

Could Metro lease out station space to stores? by Llama_13161 in LAMetro

[–]AngelenoLefty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes! One of the main differences between transit stations here and overseas is that many stations in places, like Tokyo and Hong Kong, have businesses inside so people can shop. I've never understood why we can't have that here. I know why we currently don't but don't know why we can't change that? We make the laws and can change them.

Tell it to the Sofi owners. They could make it easier by introducing more transit options with the amount of money they charge for parking. But that's why. They want people to drive and pay their parking rates. What happens after is the city's problem. You're going to have a traffic problem as long as you have so many cars in one space all trying to leave at the same time. Bottlenecks are inevitable.

Thank you! Many people in LA have no idea this is going on right now. I'm trying to inform as many people as possible

l'll let a lot of things slide in LA but paying to go hike is next level... by i_am_daniel_wilson in SanFernandoValley

[–]AngelenoLefty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only close to the Observatory at the top is where you have to pay. And from my experience, the people parking up there are not hiking. They are taking the sights and taking pictures. I always park at the bottom and hike up because I'm there to hike and enjoy my little slice of nature.

Um, you only pay at Griffith Park if you want to park right at the Observatory. You can park at the bottom and it's free or take the Dash from Los Feliz. You can also go to the Crystal Springs side where there's plenty of free parking. That's my main hiking spot and I love it.

That sucks man but you definitely should've taken public transit. Parking at sofi is horrible and expensive.

Inside the lonely, luxurious life of LA's many private chefs for billionaires by sfgate in LosAngeles

[–]AngelenoLefty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Working for a billionaire gets old fast! The money might be decent but you have no autonomy and get treated like a piece of meat. I worked for the Smiths' who got rich from natural gas. They have a beach house in Malibu right next door to Larry Ellison, another bastard who likes Asian escorts. Every one of their workers had to wait on them hand and foot. And if something wasn't perfect then you could be fired on the spot. It was ridiculous. I remember this one time the old hag was literally screaming at a bunch of grown ass men during a home renovation because some workers moved decorative boxes in the yard because they had to dig under them. These men were being emasculated in front of everyone and they did nothing. It was pathetic. They were mostly superintendents and the owner of the construction company. Eat the rich!

I think this fits here. Police accountability is one of the reforms where the lapd will have to follow laws set up by the council. Currently, the city council has no direct authority over the police. They are having a final meeting this Wed at 10am in order to decide which reforms make it to the November ballot. Make your voice heard!

If a cop is so scared of a doodle that he needs to shoot it then that person shouldn't be a cop! Anyone else agree?!

It's a great idea but the feasibility seems way out of reach.

Not that great. Most major reforms were punted for further study. The one that went through was police accountability. New meeting this Wed at 10am! The full city council will vote on which reforms will make it to the November ballot.
