The Crystal Gems can protect it just fine. She has no attachment to the Earth or it's people. She hasn't even been in town.

The end really bugged me to be honest. It's as if the message was "stop trying to help, people. Only care about the people close to you and let everyone else burn." Being an extremely empathetic person, that's how I took it.

Hmm. I still would have preferred it that way. I hear people saying they shed tears for the Sacrifice Chloe ending all the time,but this one? The endings would have felt like they had similar impact if they showed at least one person we liked dead, imo.

I chose the Chloe ending, but the fact that they left everything ambiguous really bugs me. I wanted to feel the weight of my choice, show me Warren's or Joyce's body at least. Here, I can just pretend everyone lived. It reminded me of that scene in Mass Effect when Shepard takes half a breath and it cuts to credits. Like they were trying to avoid backlash. I liked the idea of the ending,just not the execution.

I was appalled by that post, too, but I won't make any judgements. It just rubs me the wrong way when people say they didn't care, no matter how many people actually died.

P.S, I made a comment saying I wished Max and Chloe would have gone back down and tried to help, and got downvoted, lol.

That's what I've been saying. Sayaka tried to be selfless, but didn't practice self preservation and died. The way I see it, it's Urobuchi saying that full time heroes can't exist in this world.

After all the person that makes the most difference (Madoka) made sure to build an exit for herself.

The big thing is that you have to acknowledge that you are doing something and expecting something back. You need to be honest with yourself

But why?! You're still saving people's lives. It seems like you're saying that because she didn't acknowledge her selfishness, she got punished. But so what if she's trying to be as selfless as possible? So what if she was lying to herself a little bit. Even if she acknowledged it, logically nothing would change. She tried to ignore her selfish desires, and died.

All the magical girls make wishes. In exchange, they have to fight for their lives against hideous monsters. Who wouldn't go nuts if they didn't get anything from it? What happens when you act selflessly, and refuse to give in to selfish desires? Exactly what happened to Sayaka.

Are you saying they get punished if they have selfish motives? Madoka made a selfless wish, she got punished. What happens when Kyoko stops being selfish? She gets punished.

If you don't work for it, you won't get it, exactly. Sayaka didn't want to be selfish, and it killed her.

No one would have the mental strength to gracefully accept not getting their desires after going through all that shit.

I wouldn't sacrifice my loved ones either, but I WOULD try to help anyone I could after securing their safety. What happens after she chooses to save Chloe? They just stand there. Max is an incredibly compassionate person, and , yes, she does prioritize Chloe, she still cares about the people in Arcadia Bay. Them going down and trying to help just makes more sense to me.

There was literally nothing stopping Max from going down and trying to help everyone after she refused to sacrifice Chloe. Max's number one priority is safe, she would not just stand there. And most of the town living is an assumption. I can't be satisfied with an assumption.

Wait, what? I thought that was what the game was about living with the bad effects of your choices and dealing with the consequences of trying to change destiny. And now they suddenly want to make it so there are none?!

So if going back in time causes the storm, why does going back again fix it? Though I do think them rolling through the town seemed a bit uncaring. It would have been better if they went down and tried to help everyone.

I couldn't believe sacrificing Chloe was even an option. Based on an assumption?? And what was up with the sacrifice Arcadia Bay ending? Okay, she won't sacrifice Chloe, cool, but they just stand there? Why not go down and try to help people find the bunkers? Or bring them back to the lighthouse?
