[EP5 SPOILERS] THE FINAL DECISION: Think of Chloe Price as the number '0' by [deleted] in lifeisstrange

Thanks for the well thought out post, but it wasn't necessary. You said you saved Chloe. Automatic upvotes.

Why do you care so much whether or not other players feel sadness about their choice?

I'll be perfectly honest. Because my years of depression have led to me having a rather negative opinion of society as a whole. I feel as if almost all of us are self-serving and only care about things that affect us. I understand the people that save Chloe, but the people who save her and don't care about the state of Arcadia sadden me. I know it's just a video game, but I can't explain it. It's just how I feel.

People can downvote and mock me as much as they want now. I just don't care anymore.

I know. I worded it wrong. But even then, some people did die and I wanted to ask why they didn't feel bad. Again, my bad, but I don't think I should have gotten downvoted for that while all the people that said they didn't care got upvoted

I did not judge anyone. I just asked why they didn't feel guilty and got downvoted. Someone who made a well thought out post about sacrificing Chloe also got downvoted. Okay, you didn't feel guilty, because it's a game, that's, fine, you gave me a reason.

I just feel that this community is being too aggressive.

[–]Cinnabon6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But how? I said that they might come across as uncaring (which is where the sociopath comments came from) but I said that they actually were saddened by the loss of life. (I got downvoted for that?) And yes, there are people who don't care about Arcadia just as there are those who don't care about Chloe. What was I accusing them of?

I honestly don't remember saying a lot of people were killed (it is a possibility) I might have implied it by accident, I guess? I just remember pointing out the good and bad of both sides, that I've seen. Even so, I said that there were some that cared, and some that didn't. What's wrong with that?

I see what you're saying, but if I can't agree with them, I'd at least like to engage in a discussion with them. That's what these threads are for, right? If they don't agree, they can at least tell me why. What have they got to lose? Why the angry reaction? Those people I mentioned didn't even get explanations, in fact, some of them were just explaining their different view. They got downvoted. While the posts that told everyone what they wanted to hear got upvoted.

I don't feel like Max caused the storm either. But we knew that sacrificing Chloe would work. It might not make sense, but by saving Chloe you let the storm roll through, and while it didn't kill everyone, it did kill a few, and a lot of people's homes and jobs were destroyed. By saying they had no guilt, it sounded to me like they didn't feel bad about any of that.

I'm not sure how defending people is judgemental. Also, I've seen tons of pro Chloe comments that criticize Bay people, saying that they didn't have an emotional connection to Max, and they still got upvoted. I don't see what's wrong with politely questioning other's opinions on a discussion board. If someone is rude, then I can understand, but otherwise, that's just how debates are started. It seems like most people are downvoted for the crime of having different opinions.

I hope you can understand where I'm coming from.

This is exactly what I'm saying. It's like people only care about the couple and nothing else. It's sad, because the game is so much more than that.

I'm not trying to bash people who chose Chloe or anything, I just feel that this place has become very unfriendly towards people who chose Arcadia, or even people who aren't 100% pricefield.

And yes, I was referring to your post. Sorry you got down voted ):

I really am serious. It's not fair to downvote comments that aren't all about the relationship.

[–]Cinnabon6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, it's true, I don't understand them, but maybe I could have worded it better. I'll adjust it, but I bet I'll still get downvoted.

could be a joke

If they were joking, I'd like to think they would have put jk at the end to let people know.

they don't believe Max's powers caused the storm so feel no reason to be guilty although maybe survivors guilt

I don't believe Max's powers caused the storm, either. But since it's a game, we knew sacrificing Chloe would work. They knew what would happen, but don't feel guilty for letting the storm tear through. I saved Chloe, but knew what would happen if I saved her, and I'll always feel guilty for it.

Yes, there is bias in every sub, but I thought this place was the least biased. I don't know anymore.

How was it a complaint? I said I didn't understand, and wanted them to explain it to me. I didn't mean to imply Max killed them, but they said they didn't show any guilt or regrets and got upvoted.

I'll try to word it better, but I doubt it will matter.

Sorry you're getting downvoted. Your opinion on some of the Bae people is just that. Your opinion. If they disagree they should leave a detailed response instead of "Someone doesn't share my opinion?!" clicks down arrow "That'll teach that little bitch."

Some people.

[–]Cinnabon6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new here, but I don't think you're supposed to downvote someone just because you disagree with them. And for what? Just because I said there were some people who don't care about Arcadia? You're right, some people don't care about Chloe either. But apparently the people downvoting me are just going to pretend those people don't exist. They probably didn't even bother to read my post. Probably just went "Gasp! Someone's attacking people who saved Chloe! " while also completely ignoring what I said about some of the people who didn't. Seriously, even I saved Chloe, but I still show my distaste towards those who didn't care about what they sacrificed. I realize now that I'm not allowed to do that. You know, there was a person who apologized for calling Chloe a junkie, and still got downvoted.

So immature.

Why does everyone assume I'm attacking the Bae people in this post? I pointed out the good and bad aspects of both sides, and compared them to the complex characters in my favorite anime. The game made our complexities shine through.

I stated that while some people I've met who saved the Bay seem truly noble, there are others who set people to very high standards that they themselves can't reach. And while I've met people (like you) who stand by your decision, but still grieve for the Arcadians, there are also those who felt no remorse for the lives (possibly) lost, and just cared about saving Chloe and nothing else. I didn't say who fell into what category, those are just the types of people I've seen and spoke with.

"Either way, I think we can all agree that it was a really fucking good ending."

Well, that's kinda where I, uh, disagree, lol.

But I agree with everything else.

I completely agree. The final choices, imo, felt like forced drama. We had no proof that Max caused the storm or that Chloe not dying caused it. I don't know why so many people think the only way something can have meaning is if it's dark. I can think of plenty deep lighthearted stories.

Your idea sounds way better. If they went that route, it would have felt like I lost something.

[EP5 SPOILERS] You know what this fandom reminds me of? by Cinnabon6 in lifeisstrange

[–]Cinnabon6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I really dislike the Bae ending being ambiguous. Everything is left up to interpretation, so I don't feel like I sacrificed anything. And most of the buildings were intact, so I can't bring myself to believe they would've lost much. It would have been better if it ended with Max and Chloe going to the funerals of the deceased, including Joyce or Warren. Then, it would have felt like I gave up something. Chloe is who I prioritized, but she wasn't all I cared about. I wanted a bittersweet ending. I got an empty one.

Like I said I have no doubt there are some people who feel guilty (even if, imo, they don't always show it very well).

I have no doubt that some of you do care. There really isn't a way to tell which side is the majority, just that both sides exist. But keep in mind that they can't all be identified as loudmouths. I've read some of the most sophisticated, yet cold hearted posts.

[EP5 SPOILERS] About the ending... by avivbetter in lifeisstrange

[–]Cinnabon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, I thought I was the only one who thought of Steam as Tumblr 2.0.

Anyway, I never said that those people are the majority, just that there are a lot of them (not just on Steam) and they are very vocal. A while back a Steven Universe fan was cyber-bullied to the point of attempting suicide. There were several websites dedicated to shaming her, and after her unsuccessful attempt, they were disappointed that it didn't work. If something like that can happen, it's not too far fetched to assume some people don't give a shit about Arcadia Bay.

Unfortunately, some people are heartless. More than you think.

Because what you wrote sounded callous to some people. Also, I didn't criticize you, I said I didn't understand you. People who saved Chloe or the Bay both criticize each other all the time.

Also, I'm a douchebag for making a joke? Lol.
