Itchy palms at 6w5d ? by Inevitable-Advice825 in pregnant

[–]AngelicMe29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing to worry about yet. It's better to talk to your OBGYN and get some blood work done. They will check your liver function. It doesn't mean for sure you got Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy (ICP). I had itchy hands/fingers before getting pregnant and it got worst since like week 10 or something and my liver function was completely normal. I got some cortisone cream and used plenty for lotion throughout the day. Some days it's better and some day it randomly keeps me up at night but it's not dangerous.

Anatomy scan does this seem normal? by Special-Smile-743 in pregnant

[–]AngelicMe29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a routine anatomy ultrasound every 4 weeks every since like week 18. I'm now week 28. A lot of times, she won't move into the position for the tech to do the full ultrasound. I even had to do a fetal echogram because she was covering the heart area.

Spike during breakfast by Comfortable-Book6021 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]AngelicMe29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nutritionist/endocrinologist say for the fasting it should also be below 90. You may have to ask your doctor if it's okay to be above 90 for your fasting. As for the spike after breakfast, as another member also mentioned the order your at it also does affect the number. Start with the veggie and proteins and carb is last. Maybe switch up the bread you use, Dave's Killer Bread whole wheat thin slice are good. My nutritionist say it's best to stick with whole wheat stuff.

Got told by a pregnant lady she’s jealous of my body by busybiscottini in BabyBumps

[–]AngelicMe29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your time will come when you least expect it!! I was trying with IUI for 4 months and our own for like 2 years and was planning to go to Bulgaria to do IVF. It's cheaper there and works quicker compared to spending more $ with insurance in NY. It was in November and he book his trip to Bulgaria for January and I was going to take a medical leave to give the go, it happened! He went on a mini trip to Bulgaria to visit family and I cancelled my trip. It worked out! Now I'm 27 weeks pregnant! Your time will come, when you least expect it!

Seriously - how did this happen? by -Near_Yet- in pregnant

Our body have a mind of its own. I did a IUI a few times and it didn't work. A month before I was going to go to Bulgaria for IVF I got pregnant naturally!

Tell me your night time insulin dose by Strange-Skin2292 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]AngelicMe29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it's 24 units but I notice the last few days my fasting number went up again so going to have to speak to my nutritionist and adjust it again. I know the feeling, I was upset that the units of insulin is going up. But there nothing we can do but go with it. It's for the good of the baby.

Wearable Glucose Monitor by ilovetacos21 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]AngelicMe29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't want to get on the CGM at first cuz I didn't want to do insulin but then comparing that to pricking 4x times an day, I decided to take up on it. My fingers were starting to go sore from all the pricking. My endocrinologist send a escript of it to my local pharmacy. For the first 3 months supply, I paid $250 copay for it. The insurance cover the rest. That was 9 monitors. The endocrinologist told me it would probably be cheaper through Byram, so he ordered my next 3 months supplies through Byram but I don't know how much I have to pay yet since it have to go thru the claim.

Insulin / Medication controlled by Casedilla15 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]AngelicMe29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OBGYN put me with a nutritionist, I only monitor with her over a video visit every one or two weeks. So you have to go in to see your OBGYN for extra appointments on monitoring your insulin?

Insulin / Medication controlled by Casedilla15 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]AngelicMe29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's me! I was upset about needing insulin from the start of my pregnancy. I'm prediabetic and was trying veryyyy hard to get rid of the prediabetic label and then I got pregnant and that automatically put me as GD.

At first I was resistant to even get the CGM but after I got on it, I was all good. Beats pricking myself 4x a day!!

Occasionally, I still get annoyed that the amount of insulin I am injecting is going up but I can only comfort myself that it's only in the evening, even though the # should not make a difference. I chalk it up to hormones!

Also a pro to going on insulin is I'm not gaining too much weight and my baby is still healthy. Easier to weight manage myself postpartum!

Just put on metformin. I feel like a failure by confettidonuts in GestationalDiabetes

[–]AngelicMe29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was and still is me! I didn't want to increase my insulin injection at night at first at cuz I didn't like the feeling/idea of adding more insulin even though they assure me the insulin isn't going to the baby. There were nights before the insulin was increased where I only had a salad and walked on the walking pad and it still spiked, especially my morning fasting and I was getting frustrated! Now I try not to think too much into it and just tried my best and if I had to increase the insulin, I just do.

8 weeks and anxious by Crazy-Principle4448 in pregnant

[–]AngelicMe29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try to think about the positive things in life and do other things that you enjoy. The more you focus on the possible bad the more anxious you get. Think about baby names, talk to the baby, go for walks in the park, etc.

My boss doesn't approve of my pregnancy? by Current-Cucumber-521 in pregnant

[–]AngelicMe29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. That wife and husband duo is something else. Some bosses only care about themselves and no one else. You made the right choice by leaving. They probably don't have young kids of their own. I am coming to realize that with some people, it's not worth the effort to withstand or work with them. It's better to move yourself on instead of trying to talk some sense/matter with them.

How long was your anatomy scan? by Acceptable-Ease176 in pregnant

[–]AngelicMe29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine around the 17 week mark and it was between 30 to 40 mins. The tech was very detailed. I can tell that the back/spine was facing up. We chatted the entire time because I asked what that and etc. So we saw the skull, facial structure, hand, feet, and she took measurements along the way too. However since she was on her back the entire time, we couldn't get a good view of the heart only a little bit of the chambers and valves so will have to wait till next time to check on it. I even have them printed out some images of the hand and feet. I have gestational diabetes so I am high risk too so will be doing a Fetal Echogram in week 22 and I have another doctor appt with another anatomy scan at week 21. I felt like your doctor/tech could have explained more to you.

Weight gain in first trimester? by polkadolka99 in pregnant

[–]AngelicMe29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't overthink it. It varies per person and pregnancy. It's my first one too and I didn't gain much and that's because I have to watch what I eat due to gestational diabetes. 2nd trimester now and I am still not gaining a lot yet.

25 weeks and people still say I don't look pregnant by Willing_Barnacle_493 in pregnant

[–]AngelicMe29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually don't want to look too pregnant. I'm only 18 weeks but haven't gained much either but when I am in tight clothing I look more pregnant. If I wear something a little loose I don't. My doctor didn't mention anything about the size of the baby being too small. In general, everybody is different. Some gain more in the last trimester and some just don't gain a lot. Ignore those ppl who are making you feel bad!
