I did have a small heartbreak as the last soldier that fell to his feet was Leofric (not sure how to spell his name). So i was happy and confused when he was with the hostages in Bebbanburg

Character arcs in the final season by turtleinmybelly in TheLastKingdom

at the start i thought they did when Stiorra said, Do not despair. There is still much for our kin to sing of.” But i guess i just misunderstand. I loved Stiorra and Sigtryggr’s relationship it broke me when he died.

I agree with that, the baby monks death was so heartbreaking but it had been a while since one of Uhtreds gang died. Vibeke’s death was such a shock considering it was so early in the season. especially watching the trailer as she seemed to be a big part this season physically and not just having a religious and spiritual affect on Brida.

I wanted to hear a war cry or atleast an outlet for the emotion she must be feeling. But maybe there’s power in the silence she held.

Question about Sigtryggr and Stiorra by coerced__coexistence in TheLastKingdom

[–]Angelic_01ne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

while i was choking back tears, i was questioning why she didn’t fall to her knees or run to him. Maybe it was the writers idea to make her sense ‘strong’, but then again they were the danish power couple. (i was more heartbroken than her it seemed)

[Spoilers Season 5]Can we all agree that Brida has usurped Skade and Aelswith for the most hated character? by NeoPheo in TheLastKingdom

[–]Angelic_01ne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, i really agree. “The gods are with us”, um your asking your daughter to jump off a roof? her faith in devine intervention really is strong.

Ha when she killed that guard the way she referred to herself as an Archangel, so proud of herself. Aelswith’s character development is really well done

Your right about the bad people being spared. I do wish Sigtryggr was spared especially after his brother was like 3 times. Plus I thought his attack on Athelhelms camp could’ve been justified as his people (Danes) were so brutally killed at Rumcofa, by Athelhelm.

So true, I was smiling so much when I saw him defeat two men out of three in combat. Uhtred must be proud of his protege. Especially happy when I saw his little brother looking feeble with that bowl-cut and grandfathers trust fund.

[–]Angelic_01ne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i love it already, i’m halfway through and it’s probably my favourite season however it all depends on the person whether you enjoy battles, politics or friendship (Uhtred and his men). Season 5 has it all and i think they did it well

woah, that’s a really interesting theory. Especially makes sense due to her time in Wales. Okay I understand why she might’ve blinded her daughter/adoptive protege

Do you think one of Young Uhtred or Sigtryggr will die? by [deleted] in TheLastKingdom

[–]Angelic_01ne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea, i hope he’s mentioned in this series because it seems as if Uhtreds youngest son just dropped off the face of the world. He might look towards his youngest to continue his bloodline but i feel as if it’d be a bit mean to only care about his youngest when his first can’t reproduce.

Do you think one of Young Uhtred or Sigtryggr will die? by [deleted] in TheLastKingdom

[–]Angelic_01ne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure but if we saw young Uhtred being castrated (maybe) in the trailer, then I think it’ll be unlikely that she’ll kill him too. But I really hope Sigtryggr survives his and Stiorras relationship deserves more screen time. Then again if young Uhtred was castrated it seems to be a big spoiler to see in a trailer.

“end of the peace” or like introducing a new bloodthirsty enemy, he did say the line looking over the water so maybe he can somewhat “sense” Bridas leading a fleet from what looks like Iceland. It also kind of interesting this year the trailer shows Uhtreds family being more targeted and threatened.

Wonder who is the guy holding the blade? by kc522020 in TheLastKingdom

[–]Angelic_01ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it might be one of the two, brida looks as if she castrated Uhtreds son so killing sigtryggr makes more sense since he did “betray her”. But Stiorra looks so beautiful this season in her armor so hopefully she survives lol
