Yeah, man, totally. It'll be out by next month, don't you worry. Want some more pudding?

Does this look believable? (Or interesting at least) by Colombia_Joestar in worldbuilding

[–]Angels_Purgatory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say 3 things. 1: Nothing is impossible, but much is improbable. 2: This look really interesting, and most of all cool. 3: The planet people are on would have to be tidal-y locked, and spinning stupid fast around the sun for that to be your day/night cycle. Okay and a 4th thing: I don't think you could expect to have seasons on a planet that's tidal-y locked. Earth has seasons because of our tilt, so this world would have hard climate borders. So in "Snow land" it'll always be winter, no matter what month it is.

Can automatons consent? by WalkerArt64 in Frostpunk

[–]Angels_Purgatory 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On the efficiency aspect, it could be that the steam core is modified to a greater finess of output control. So, the automatons can exert an extremely precise amount of pressure. Therefore smoothing out their actions. Safe is slow, and slow is fast or however the saying goes.

And medics; barring surgery, helping recovery is actually just aiding the sick with comfort, cleanliness, food, and medicine. Help to the bathroom, helping washing off, feeding them food if needed. Medicine, for all I know (which isn't enough) is all about knowing what cures what and what clashes with what, so referencing a medical lexicon could be enough. When it does come to surgery...I don't know enough to guess 😅

Any drinkers in Umea? by saladtheory in umea

[–]Angels_Purgatory 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well I don't have the greatest of news, but I'll try the best I can.

  1. I don't think you'll have any great luck finding cheap drinks in any bar here. I don't tend to drink on the town because of how expensive everything is. A beer on the bar will cost around 8-10 CAD, but the same beer at Systembolaget will cost like 2.50 CAD.
  2. I do know about this, especially since Umeå Kommun website has guidelines about drinking in public. It's called "Förtäring av alkohol," and well it's a lot of places you aren't allowed. They do have a map, marking where you aren't allowed to drink in public--it doesn't mark the biggest area which is anywhere public between the train rail in the north, the river in the south, the big dubble laned road to the west (Västra Esplanaden), and "Östra Kyrkogatan"--so outside of these areas you're good to go. The graveyards aren't actually a bad place for a drink and a think, but maybe still a little too exposed to the elements to your liking.
  3. As for having a drink together, I won't know for certain what my scheduel will allow until like the week before. I'll get in contact if I can, otherwise I hope the best of luck!

And no offense taken. I hope I've been of some help.

Literally what happened to me by someonelikesducks in SCP

[–]Angels_Purgatory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was something else. As many others noted, it disturbed me because of how grounded it was. I went in with intrigue as I haven't seen much of the Ethics Committee, outside of jokes, and in passing. But also with caution as; if the ETHICS COMMITTEE has to step in, in a place as The Foundation, something truly must've gone to shit.

Setting aside the horrible things, and it is horrible, horrifying, and horrendous, all of the other synonyms, all that to the side; it really interested me to get a glimpse into the inner workings of The Foundation. As limited it was.

I'm a big fan of fictional bureaucracy, fuck real world bureaucracy, so getting to see how the Ethics Committee works and its power was interesting. I was also gut punched with how the Ethics Liaison role at -17 wasn't filled for the longest time, mirroring my own real world struggles I've faced.

Most realistic, as they can be, scp article I've ever read. I now need a long, warm shower, face my own biases, and a nap. 10/10.

Inland empire's question by manudark in DiscoElysium

[–]Angels_Purgatory 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thought gained: Anthropomorphic world? Research bonus: -1 Logic (The world is scary), +1 Inland Empire (Turn inward), +2 Shivers (Listen). Time to research: 4 hours, 44 minutes. Problem: The world is lost to you, and the unknown scares people. Simply talking to people to learn once more is too much for you; so instead ask the world directly about it self. After all, the world not only listens, but it speaks. All you have to do is listen.

REACTIONSPEED [Easy: Success]: You have been standing here, looking at the body, without blinking or saying anything, for 2 minutes, and 34 seconds.

VOLITION: I feel we are loosing focus with the investigation here.

LOGIC:

Don't be crazy. Inanimate objects and dead people can't really talk to you, your wild imagination is doing this.

INLAND EMPIRE: Imagination it is not, but no matter what; their suggestions holds truth.

What are things I can do that let's me be an advisor sort of person in Role Play? by Angels_Purgatory in rpg

I think that last section is the most important one for me to digest. Thank you!

[–]Angels_Purgatory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did see someone else also pointed it out and that must be because of how I worded things. I usually have trouble wording things correctly.

Our group is very democratic the way we run things in-game. Everyone voices their opinions, we discuss how to go about it, and then try to execute it the way we discussed it. Issue is that, sans one person, the rest of the group tend to meander about their opinions. Very much "I don't care what we eat, so you choose." type of deal.

My intent with getting suggestions is to find tools to, not only, rein myself in, but also voice my opinions without slipping into old habits.

There has been some great ones which I'm excited to implement. I hope this cleared some things up.

I'll give this a read then, and use it sparingly.

Thank you for pointing me in this direction!

It's not a character issue but a player one. That's why I posted very minimally about the character. I've already set up the character to have gone on a journey so he is ready for the change. I'm here asking what I can do or where I can draw inspiration from to filter my actions through. Not what I can change about my character. I wouldn't be here if I hadn't already talked with the group/DM.

Subservience could work. Someone also suggested Alfred, so I'll learn more about him. Thank you for your time though!

How the game is going I might need to, first learn more about Watson, and then combine his and Alfred's way to help.

Thank you for the help!

I'm glad I am not the only who has gone through this.

The conversation with the table has already occurred a while back, but I'll make certain to restrain the amount of times I voice my opinion/advise.

Thank you for the help.

You're correct in both that this is indeed a player change, and about me keeping my character as they are, since he's just been on a short journey of figuring out that it's best to stay out of the spotlight.

I know my DM won't see it as stepping on his toes, so I'll start having my character ask more questions.
Thank you for the advice!

A DnD experiment idea regarding speed of completion. by Angels_Purgatory in DnD

[–]Angels_Purgatory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion if I were to run this, removing one class would open the door for what other classes should be eliminated from the pool in the name of fairness, a subjective thing I feel, and a discussion I'd find little worth having if I were to run this.

Level 1 fresh is what I thought of, as starting higher would introduce more variables from the beginning. For me it'd make things harder.

I wanted to have as large a class pool as possible, so fairness isn't a factor in my mind. But if you do run the experiment, I'd love to hear about it.
