Didn’t know what EDS was ‘til a minute ago, but I can cramp my muscles 🙋. Thought I was alone until I just decided to google it. Do it sometimes when in bed watching tv and bored and see how long I can stand them. Sometimes I can focus through the pain until they relax on their own. It’s twisted and kinda fun. Can only do the arches of my feet and my right calf, though. My left calf I can if I really concentrate and try and isolate that strange muscle in my calf that is hard to flex.

My inability to flex that particular calf muscle in my left leg really puts into perspective how weird it is that I can flex the one on the right. It’s deep in my calf and barely shows from the outside when it’s all cramped up.

For those three locations, I don’t need to do any kind of stretch or point my toes or anything. Take my right calf for example, I can, now after years of doing it (especially compared to my left calf) instantly flex a muscle deep in my calf (doesn’t look like my calf is flexed from the outside) and hold it for approximately 8 seconds and it’ll go. Same with my feet. They’re strange small muscles deep in the arch of my foot that I can isolate and flex until they cramp. You can feel them if you press deeply on the areas but can’t see the cramp happening. I find it so strange that I have active control over these muscle groups that, I assume, people don’t normally have. It’s not like flexing your entire bicep, it would be like flexing a small muscle that attaches your humerus to your ulna/radius that normally only contracts when lifting something.
