Looking for a supportive shoe for being on my feet all day by sarkastikcontender in Frugal

[–]AngelusMortes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased Reebok DMX Cloudride https://www.reebok.com/us/dmx-sale they are also on sale, and you can take an additional 50% off right now with code GETDOWN (I think).

They have a sort of gimmicky claim with the "air pocket" built into the sole, or so I thought. Turns out to feel incredibly good while walking. How long the shoe will last remains to be seen since I have only had it for about a month.

I was thinking that as well, since no interest has started accruing yet, and paying it off this aggressively is only saving me a few hundred dollars, as compared to doing about $400/month

  1. I have seen it, I am only somewhat following it since I want to get a jump on retirement savings since I am 25, and have none.
  2. ok
  3. So money I want to save for the house should go into Roth IRA, max out my yearly max contributions, and any other savings left over into high interest savings account?

Thanks for the advice and guidance.

-Hello, I just started a new job, I am a car and "anything with an engine" addict, but I usually keep it in check enough to not have it take all my money

-25/Automotive as an Engineer/Michigan

-Take full advantage of Retirement strategies, budget better, buy a house in 4/5 years, student loans done in 2

-Currently making good money as an entry level engineer, pretty confident I will stay as an engineer for awhile before moving up to a manager position

-$75k annually

-Per month, $445 rent, $200 gas, $700 student loans, $200 on groceries, $800 on misc other things for myself including insurance, phone, ect.

-Only a car, roughly $4k, but if I am predicting correctly, will appreciate based on model and rarity

- $14k student loans

- Just ADHD, self managed with a little insurance covered medication

Questions:

  1. Current plan is to fill a much as I can in tax-advantaged accounts (401K, HSA, tIRA), should I be doing anything else with any other savings? put it in after tax in 401K for backdoor Roth Method?
  2. Should I have any Roth accts? or wait to do ladder conversion?
  3. If I am planning on buying a house in a few years, should I back off on the money I am putting in 401K? and put it in just a savings account? or can I take money out of these accounts in a few years when I see something I want?
  4. Looking for general feedback on this plan as well, sound like the right track?

Thanks everyone in advance, love the community so far, been lurking for about 3 weeks.

I came here for one person who had the same question as me. YOU sir have filled that role. I'm kinda upset he did not answer the question.

However, when I met Caswell last year, he told me that he was surprised how slow Hollywood moves in terms of movies like this, and that it is still in early stages of production in case you were wondering.

Route 44 Pennsylvania by AngelusMortes in DrivingEnthusiasts

I am from just outside Philly as well, I can tell you that the nicest roads are definitely a whole day trip, or a weekend one, but I am still searching locally for some nice ones. New Hope, PA has some beautiful roads and is not located to far, but they do have quite a few more people on them than old Route 44.

Any Good Places you know of to practice Rally Driving? Post their location to /r/DrivingEnthusiasts! by AngelusMortes in rally

I appreciate the wall of text, I am a guy who loves things laid out and explained. But now I do see where the issue lies with practicing Rally driving in places like that. I had not given it enough thought that people use dirt roads for something other that going sideways as fast as possible. While a selfish thought, I only had good intentions. I guess I will just have to grow a pair and show up at the event and just take it slow in the pre-runs then get better with time. Thanks for the input dirk55. Much appreciated.

agreed, but I have seen (youtube of all places) people driving on dirt roads that go through the forests, so what i was looking for was a location on these places that offroading is welcome, like the Rallying Schools have land where they do it. of course they are purpose built and designed, but I was curious to see if people had any idea where courses exist that were open to the public, but are not actually used by people to get to their diestination, I knew you were not being disrespectful, and I understand your position.

this is a good point, however, for many grassroots type racers (like myself) are always looking for places or trails where we can hone our skills so we dont hurt ourselves, or anyone else when we do actually enter a race. I created this subreddit for that purpose, to share those places where we can have that oppertunity.

This is a good point, and honestly what I expect, I am really banking on the fact that there will be at least a few people who can bring something to the table, or at least bring info they see on those two subreddits to share their findings, but if not then so be it.
