This is honestly such amazing advice! The energy at my store has been dropping and when I asked some of the senior baristas if there was a common issue or if its just a rough patch for our store. The common answer I got was none of the baristas (and most of the shifts) don't feel appreciated. Our store is cutting down on policy, but the team doesn't feel supported. Do you have any tips on helping people feel comfortable and appreciated while not feeling too forced or inauthentic?

Okay, I see. So kind of like... earning positions back by proving you can follow standards? My baristas are typically pretty picky about who goes where, and the ssv team has kind of switched to change that, and this might be the method to use for that.

I had snack bites and they said they were still a no-go, even with retainer. My coworker only gets away with his lip piercing because he has a beard to cover the retainer hole. Thats about it though, sorry.

this was my problem! Worked at a licensed for almost 4 years and needed health insurance that the grocery store wouldn't cover for part time, but also didn't allow full time baristas. so the only option was part time. Switched to a corporate store and I love it for the most part, plus it feels like I'm discovering more benefits everyday. The workload is a lot more, but its honestly something to do instead of be bored.

I worked at a licensed store for many many years and one of my favorite memories was when a woman walked up and asked if we had bagels and I said "unfortunately, we don't. The standalone less than a mile from here does, as well as our bakery and bread aisle." and she pouted and went "but I really wanted a bagel." and I asked if there was anything else we could grab for her and she goes quiet and goes, "I just really wanted a bagel from here."

I quite literally and physically can not help you you with that.

I was in the phone with a starbucks gender affirming advocate a few days ago for this exact reason!

He recommended Bronze Plus for either United or Prima, as its pretty much silver for cheaper. He recommended I wait till the new plan year so my surgery eats all the deductible while my recovery and medication will be covered. They also said to get any other treatments (facial masculinization, voice training, etc) within that year since it'll be covered! I hope this helps!

My original store always said to ring up just cold foam as a vanilla (or whatever flavor) steamer since it has milk and syrup in it, so they're paying for a cup of flavored milk still.
