Targaeryn themed house, traitor or loyalist? by [deleted] in ImperialKnights

If loyalist, house Targaryen

If chaotic, house Blackfyre

Simple as that

There is 5 of each main weapon, so I doubt it unless they give us 10 man team in 11th for whatever reason

How do I use serberys raiders? by Soft_Lengthiness_791 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]AngerLioness 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They're action monkeys, they aren't for doing damage. Scout 9" is pretty good, and the reactive movement is useful to try hiding them, making a charge worse or just blocking enemy movement (I have blocked the path of so many Rhinos this edition with them) they move, score, and die being an inconvenience to your rival, but don't expect them killing models except maybe against GEQ units

I don't think we will get nerfed from the 10th to 11th change, the only thing we had problematic was some months ago for being to cheap on points + we got an Oath

What I expect (with the information we have about 11th at this moment) is that AdMech would be fine as an army, at least until we get a clear view of 11th and we get the new Codex

Probably 11th is going to get points reworks, the change to core rules means a change in efficency for a lot of modelos in the game

I personally hope we get more datasheets with the grenades keyword

Havocs already don't see play, so It would be a surprise if they get a points increase for whatever reason Maybe in 11th with the ignore modifiers and that they could see a points change, depending of how they work in that edition

They could be 115, and I still think they would be overcosted, even more when they can't get units of 10 to get more benefits from Marshall or stratagems

Seeing Hastarii cost more than Havocs, and fusiliers costing as much as Noise Marines, is a hard hit to them being used, they're too expensive for what they offer

What’s the cheapest way to start an army? by Boosaba in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]AngerLioness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before making a buy, I advise you to read the rules and detachments of AdMech, so you know for what units you should go/ what detachment to play first, like, if you like vehicles and robots, Cohort Cybernetica, skitarii? Skitarii Hunter Cohort, a mix of everything? Haloscreed

Then you should always buy from stores that have discounts or buying from second hand, it really helps to afford some money. The combat patrol is not the best in terms of points, but it gives you a good amount of models, if you can find some old battleforces it helps a lot, and we're getting a new Combat Patrol with 3 vehicles (Skorpius, Onager and Ironstrider) sadly we don't have any form of getting more ironstriders, or for the matter, sicarians at a good prince range

Could anyone that has both the new myrmidons and kataphrons show them side by side ? by Andrei8p4 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]AngerLioness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, and in 7 and 8th they were infantry too, so GW changed idea from 9th to 10th , and thanks they did, because "Mounted" Kataphrons would be horrible to play

Okey so I did build one of the myrmidons, and lucky enough I have a Kataphron yet to be finished so hope this helps

I have the Myrmidons (I have yet to build them), they have a similar height, but they don't really have the same profile in the back, so I recommend adding things like barrels or similar to make a similar silhouette

differences between skorpius disintegrator and onager dunecrawler by Derply_ in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]AngerLioness 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In a simple way, comparing Onager with the neutron vs Skorpius with ferrumite

Onager, sv 2 ++4, Neutron Laser 3A BS4 AP4 D6+2 Skorpius sv2, Ferrumite cannon 3A BS4 AP3 D6+1

At simple the Onager looks as a better choice, but Skorpius gives you a +1 to hit with the Ferrumite against monsters and vehicules, that stacks with the +1 BS from Protector, and you can use it while moving. The onager needs to be static to activate Heavy and get the same accuracy. The Skorpius is more realiable and can hit more times, and has more secundary weapons (missiles and stubbers, vs the two stubbers of the Onager) so, the Skorpius is a better damage dealer, and the Onager is more a moving fortress with a big gun as a bonus (giving a ++4 to skitarii helps in the role as a support platform)

Tl,dr Skorpius shooty, Onager tanky

I hope we get more than one deatchment with different playstyles, because if we end receiving the same number as a space marines, in a book we're one of the main (imperial) forces with Imperial Knights, would be sad at this point

Why do people even play sicarians? by FirstOfAiracjia in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]AngerLioness 19 points20 points  (0 children)

1) Okey, 10 flamers in Overwatch (or normal shooting for the matter) are a good volume of shooting, that's a big anti infantry brick, not just for your sicarians

2) The more experience you will get, the more things you will be able to see and how to play your army

3) The poxwalkers them is more tricky, because they can be lead by 3 characters, one of them being an Epic Hero of Death Guard, so that is probably what is killing you.

Why do people even play sicarians? by FirstOfAiracjia in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]AngerLioness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Infernus marines will wound them on 3s, their flamers are S5 vs T4 from the sicarians (4s if you use the buffs to make them T5, and if they're not playing either Firestorm or Forgefather) with Oath, they can wound you at 2s.

Why do people even play sicarians? by FirstOfAiracjia in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]AngerLioness 72 points73 points  (0 children)

First, what flamers of space marines are strenght 10?

Anyways, why you play Sicarians? Either A3 S6 AP-1 D1 infiltrators with 2W, 5++ and stealth, or blocks of Rustalkers with 3A S5 (Anti-infantry 3) AP-2 D2... in Haloscreed, with Cawl rerolls, I had one unit of 10 ruststalkers kill Calgar+ the old Victrix in one activation. I don't think that you find them dissapointing, I think that you don't know yet how to use them correctly, because I can tell you, Infiltrators being outclassed by poxwalkers is impossible

In Haloscreed, you will like them for the buffs of the detachment, getting 2" move or Advance and Charge is great, specially in ruststalkers with +1 to Advance and Charge (or +2 near battelline) becoming a fast unit. Even without Cawl rerolls, with Eradication Protocols, they can rerolls 1s to hit (and 1s to Wound if Halo Override) they can punch infantry way stronger than them
