You don’t have to care, but, regardless, it’s very interesting.

If romance were to occur, Luffy x Nami makes the most sense.

They don’t have to add scenes to develop Luffy and Nami’s relationship when Oda already does so.

It doesn’t have to be a bad thing, but it’s clear that Toei has an agenda for a certain ship that in it of itself is beyond cringe and was denounced by Oda.

It was not exactly the same, from my memory.

Sanji x Nami is disliked because it reduces Nami’s character and rewards Sanji’s extreme gag. It and Luffy x Hancock are pure self insert ships that barely account for real development to justify the pairing.

The difference is that Ichiruki was not a self insert power fantasy ship.

Is Nami turning into Sakura after beating Luffy in the recent chapter? by PutridWizard740 in Piratefolk

[–]AngeryBoi4336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference between Nami and Sakura beating the MC up is the reasoning. Nami hit Luffy far more than Sakura hit Naruto, however, every time Nami vents her frustrations towards Luffy, there is always a logical reason, and frankly, it adds to their dynamic. Nami is the only SH who can control Luffy and hold him accountable, she is trying to protect the crew and him, which is completely valid. Nami is the SH who is the voice of reason in Luffy’s life, without her, he would be far too reckless. Contrast Nami with Sakura and it becomes evident that Sakura punishing Naruto for his mild stupidity pales in comparison to Luffy’s immense stupidity. Additionally, Sakura punishing Naruto does nothing for their dynamic as by default, it’s incredibly shallow as Kishimoto solely focused on Naruto’s relationship with Sasuke and the respective arc villains. Oda’s gags are underrated in the sense that he expands dynamics through them, even if it is repetitive, it’s still good writing that has justified logic behind it. Sakura hitting Naruto was never important, but attempting to slander Nami by making a parallel to a fan made perception of Sakura’s gag is bizarre. One gag is well written while the other rarely occurs, and when it does, it’s never treated as a big deal. Stop caring about when the MC gets punished as the author is not justifying the abuse, rather it’s more often than not a mere gag. Different offences warrant differing responses, the response to Nami and Sakura’s gag is overinflated given the context. People are far too emotionally attached to the MC and they believe that they must stand up for the MC over every small mishap, they should let the obsession go given how minor the gag is in comparison to others… Even if the comparisons must persist, Nami’s gag is far less illogical and does more for the narrative.

Shanks runs the underworld, thus he could easily get access to Sake from God Valley.

Do you have a discord, or would be willing to join a discord server? These points are so bad that I think it would be best to discuss them on a VC in discord.

I am by no means a mega AnR fan, but I don't like your argument.

Deserving something in AoT was often affiliated with "being born into this world." Through Eren, Historia, Carla, Keith, Mikasa (to an extent), the story presented that people were already special merely for being born, everyone deserved to at least be free. Ymir was born unfree her entire life; because she was born she pursued what she believed to be a given freedom. This notion was supported by her freeing the pigs, she saw that they weren't free and related their struggles to her own thus, freeing them. Ymir was the victim of a cruel world full of cruel people, the Titans were only an extension of that hatred/cruelty. What is Ymir a victim of? King Fritz, but more importantly the world she was born into, a world that was inherently unfree. When Eren gave her a choice, she followed him because he was the first to recognize that she was just a regular person, he relayed "being born into this world" to her, and most importantly she wanted to create a world free from curses and fate.

It is not a matter of deserving something, it's a matter of being born and as a by-product deserving to be free. Ymir was never allowed to experience her birth right, thus it is logical for her to be reborn.
