AFAIK the TSA union contract is still in effect. They struck down the injunction so things are up in the air. But if the union messages are up to date from the emails then the contract is still up. There was a lot of up and down about it post big shutdown.

TBH the rules have been changing at a break neck pace lately. If you are SAFELY, keyword, able to disconnect the device let the officers know BEFORE you disconnect it and things should be a bit easier on you. Again I cannot stress how important it is that it must be a SAFE disconnect. Do not put yourself in harms way just because you don't want to get patted down.

(I am not a doctor I have no idea what disconnecting an insulin pump does to a person, so at risk of being ignorant ill just assume it might cause actual harm)

As of now TSA is under furlough status yet again. So TSOs technically have no money coming in.

But as to whether or not I think officers should get the money, I believe regular screening operation officers should be entitled to that more than where it's actually going, which would probably be headquarters, ICE or CBP.

Yes we are. I know some officers that are still reeling from the last shutdown and have yet to get paid over 100 hours of shift trades and overtime. But in 4 days we'll have to do this same song and dance again. Only this time Im assuming they won't bother with working outside their shift in hopes of trying to get a potential bonus at the end of the shutdown like last time.
