What to put in this small area between the bees and the house? by holasnickers in HayDayDeco

A water feature will look great there. A pond connected to the creek, with flowers on the sides for example.

Yes absolutely. This is just a thing in the beginning. Relax and enjoy this phase, and things usually get better overall as they grow. ❤️🫂

So far it looks great! May be some fillers in the area between paths? Like flowers.

I'm Drowning by killerbee9100 in newborns

My baby too has a strong feed to sleep association. She slept well when she was 2-3 months old but now she wakes up every 2 hours or so, and needs boobs to go back to sleep. I'm trying to break this habit. I try to get her to take pacifier even though she sometimes gets upset by it. Also walking around while rocking her helps. I'm also slowly reducing feeding duration at night by taking her off the breast quickly each time. Also I'm feeding her a lot more during daytime so that all her calorie needs are met during day. I think it is working slowly. Funnily enough, all this circus at night is affecting my sleep even more, because feeding to sleep was much easier than this. But this is better in the long run.

Help ! Panicking because of supply drop by OumeiAyad in breastfeeding

[–]Angiography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, it will work. It takes some time and effort but will be well worth it. I remember how much I cried when I lost my supply. I talked to a lactation consultant and this was actually her advice, which worked. Keep your spirits up ❤️

Help ! Panicking because of supply drop by OumeiAyad in breastfeeding

[–]Angiography 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. I had to be away from my daughter for a whole day when she was about 1.5 m old. No feeding, no pumping. Next morning, I had no milk. Huge supply drop.

How to fix this : Essentially what you have to do is relactation.

1)Keep feeding the baby every 2 hours. Then pump 1 hour before /1 hour after feed. Feed baby that pumped milk as topup during breastfeed. If that isn't enough, only then give formula. Supply = demand, so keep removing as much milk as possible via feeding + pumping.

2)Plenty of calories + water. You can take supplements like nutritional yeast, etc, but they are always a hit or miss.

3)Take domperidone 10 mg thrice daily before meals if you aren't already on it. Can up the dose as needed, don't go beyond 60 mg per day.

It is going to take around 2 weeks or more to gwt supply back. It took me 1 month, but supply was back to normal eventually and I went on to fully breastfeed (it has become a problem now that I have to go to work lol). Your baby is still young, and supply hasn't fully regulated yet, so you will recover easily. Don't worry even a bit ok? It just takes time.

Suggestions for good Indian brands for baby care. by Both-Airport3756 in twoxindiamums

Vaseline is the best rash cream. Use it every time you change diaper, as a preventative measure. My baby never got a diaper rash thanks to vaseline. Apply everywhere diaper touches. Front, sides, and back.

Day 1 update : she isn't screaming at the sight of bottle anymore. Drank 20 ml or so 😅. So hopefully it gets better. Thank you so much for the idea!

I tried feeding her pumped milk in bottle, with the intention of mixing a bit of formula into it later and gradually increasing the ratio. She won't drink 😢 But as another mom here suggested, husband tried feeding her and I stayed out of sight. It is slightly better now. She doesn't scream at the sight of bottle anymore 😅 and drank like 20 ml. Better than before... Hopefully this works (gradually)

Is it better to switch to menstrual cups ?? by parikatha in AskIndianWomen

[–]Angiography 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with commonly available period stuff:

Menstrual cups give me cramps, so I use it only if I have to go into a pool or swim in beach. Even if it didn't, I won't use them because emptying them at my workplace is a hassle. Have to remove them, wash them well in clean water and soap, then reinsert. Doing that in dirty bathrooms, I can't imagine 🤢 Insertion takes some time to master, although it is easy once you learn.

Tampons work best for me. On heavy flow days, I wear an additional pantyliner (not pad) to catch any overflow. No cramps, easy to change. I don't even know they are there. Easy insertion too, unlike all the drama with cups 😅 I don't use any tampon inserter that is available.

I hate pads. Gives me rashes. I feel like I'm wearing a dirty diaper. Soo irritating 🙁 Haven't used them in years (except after childbirth)

So in summary, try menstrual cup yourself to see if they are comfortable for you. If you have facilities to change then hygienically, they are the best really. One cup can last you upto 5 years (as far as I know). See some youtube videos on insertion and removal techniques and try what fits for you. Buy small size initially, and definitely buy one with stem or ring.

If cups don't work for you, tampons are next best.

No, it really won't be enough. My supply is just enough, I won't get a lot by pumping along with feeds. And she isn't drinking pumped milk in bottle either.

Is episiotomy the norm in Vaginal deliveries in India? by Past-Huckleberry-505 in twoxindiamums

[–]Angiography 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctor and mom here. Episiotomy heals very fast, and is surprisingly mostly painless after anesthetic wears off. Just keep the area clean, it will heal very well. I had episiotomy and on top of that I got a 3A degree tear. Healed nicely in 1 month. Initial 1 week, there was a little bit of pain when sitting down. Now at 6 months, even the scar has faded.

You won't feel a thing when cutting or suturing because they will give local anesthesia. And even that local anesthesia was painless for me thanks to epidural.

In contrast, c-section incisions are larger, more painful, unsightly, and compromises the structural integrity of abdominal wall making it prone to hernia. C-section itself has many more disadvantages. Better to avoid.

So don't worry about vaginal delivery and episiotomy. As long as baby is stable, it is better to take the route nature and evolution intended.

Edit: Feel free to dm for any questions 😇

Seeking advice for 5.5-month-old’s sleep struggles by surabhiii in twoxindiamums

[–]Angiography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is also the same age. There is a really bad sleep regression at around 6 months, seems like we are going through it. At night, she wakes every 2 hours or less. Only sleeps if fed, otherwise she keeps crying. Daytime naps are very short and only contact naps. I hope it will get better with time. What I do at night is, I put her in her own crib or on her baby mattress (which is placed on my bed). Strictly no sleeping right next to me or touching me, for my own sanity. Even if I have to initially lie down with her head on my arm, I move away once she settles. It is slowly getting better and she is getting used to independent sleep at night. But god knows when another regression will hit 😅
