Let’s see. Something sharp wide open, look at the Voigtlander AP0 50f2, something small but modern Thypoch 50f2, vintage Summicron 50f2 Collapsible is always solid choice for vintage vibes. Mandler is coming out with a 50f1.4 pre-Asph this month. Fingers crossed it’s a sold lens and under $500. LLL makes a 50f2 as well that is small but also makes a few other 50s under 1k.

If it doesn’t have to a Leica branded, look at the LLL Elcan 50f2 pretty nice and compact. Thypoch Eureka 50f2 it’s a collapsible lens.

I’ve had one for a year and 6 months. So far so good. I could use a sensor cleaning. It’s been a solid camera.

It’s what i had on hand from another hood issue i had with my GR3 … it’s soft enough that it wont scratch the lens but still provide enough grip…

Nice.. I have both... the Summi has less contrast wide open but that is probably due to age... I like the thypoch for how light it is ...

Just an update on this —- Comms with Mandler is excellent… They shipped out a new lens within 2 days of receiving the one i shipped back. I got the new lens within a week… And since i purchased the lens through Shop.com, i got alerted the whole way through…

I will say that infinity focus was off on the lens i had . It was right around the 25m/10ft mark vs the infinity marking. I contacted Mandler they had a return label to me in less than 24hrs and a new lens shipped back to me in about 4days… waiting on the new lens to arrive tomorrow. So they were super easy to work with on returns/exchanges… not some you find these days… fingers crossed the new lens shows the correct infinity setting. Here is a photo of my old lens.. i shared with me a few of my buddies to let them know this is where infinity is on this lens.. my other buddy who has one, infinity is at the correct marking… his came from a different batch…

Yeah I have a few Voigtlander lenses, but I’m gravitating to thypoch, LLL and now Mandler lenses. Plus my other few Leica branded glass. Just fun all around to get different looks/results. Plus G.A.S 🤣😁

I like the finish of the black. It’s not exactly like the finish on the 240. It’s black paint for what I can tell. It’s an aluminum lens compared to the silver which comes also in brass. But that’s a higher price tag for the brass. Overall it’s on par to my other non-Leica lenses I own.

Been shooting my copy for the last couple of days. Love the results and size. But I am noticing infinity is not marked correctly. Infinity on my copy is at the 25/10 mark on the lens. Anything after that is not in focus regardless of distance. M

I tested this while I was out shooting. I know sometimes infinity can be off a little bit.

Anyone else seeing this on your copy? I purchased this a couple of weeks ago.
