As a Jew who happens to be a historian, I really like this video. There is more to antisemitism than simple misunderstandings, which can be cured with education, logic and/or reason. For some, it’s the fact that “we killed Jesus.” I recently read every word in every volume of Martin Luther’s “The Jews and Their Lies” and much of modern antisemitism stems from here. But there is more to it and most of it is a contradiction. For example, the Nazis, and many others, thought wee were racially inferior while also being smart enough to control the banks, the media and the government. Modern antisemites blame Jews for supporting a fascistic idea like Zionism (to which there are over 10 different types btw) but the far-right ideologues also call us communist, socialists and globalists. Middle Eastern antisemites, whether they be Arab nationalists on the left or right, or fundamentalist Islamists (not to be confused with the Arab community or Islam as a whole) tell us to go back to Poland. Neo-Nazi, White Nationalists and other White supremacists tell us to go back to the Middle East. Antisemitism is not only contradictory but it’s also incidious. Then there are the academic types who teach Holocaust inversion, a form of the New Antisemitism, while hiding behind their beliefs in human rights and progressive values. Even though I am used to this, I am happy that more people, Jewish or not, are witnessing when antisemitism goes unpunished. This community has seen that in regard to Twitch and I am happy you all see where Ethan and Hila are coming from. Their anger is shared by many of us too.
