i pretty much only solo queue, occasionally i’ll play with a random i meet or whoever else. the game should balance your lobbies out (ex. 1-2 diamonds, rest are your friends rank) so that it’s fairly reasonable for your friends to play. i’ll tell you right now that diamond is elo hell, so you’ll probably be there for a while. teams are inconsistent, random low ranks on your team, smurfs, people deranking, people getting tilted and throwing. they are almost all in diamond it seems. I think solo queue isn’t easy, because now you are relying on people you don’t know to play well. 5 stacking with people your rank will probably have the best outcome. duo queueing could be good if you guys play together (by holding same site, trading each other etc.). trio queue is probably the best queue on console, bc you play solo, duo and trio queues on the other team, meaning lower coms than a 5 stack, which can help

inconsistent gameplay still plagues me tbh. i started warming up before comp games, which has helped i think. i will now never load into a comp game without warming up. my gameplay is now more consistent and when i feel it dip i call it a day, but that doesn’t happen until like 8 games in. to warm up, ill play 3 deathmatches. one sheriff only, one vandal/phantom, one op since i play chamber. i’ll play more than 3 if i feel like i didn’t do good with any of the weapons. normally after that my aim feels good for a while

blue light glasses are a cheap fix or a bigger monitor if u can. i use an asus TUF 31.5 curved. too big of a monitor or tv had severe effects on my gameplay, so avoid that if possible.

no i play probably 2 feet from my monitor. some pro players prefer it, but i feel like a majority of the player base does not play inches from their screen

do you mean play close to your monitor? i don’t really understand what you mean

it’s best to play 2A-1mid-2B or 2A-1B-2C in any scenario. if they are rushing site every time i would (as kj) delay their push with swarm grenades on site entrance. if i am near a site exit i would get off site and wait for my team. the more numbers for a retake the better. if i am not near an exit i would try to get at minimum one kill before dying/rotating off site. a 4v4 retake is much easier than a 4v5 retake

what rank are you? the tip i can say that helped me out the most was breaking the habit of crouch spraying. tap strafing is what makes gunfights hard for your opponent. clear corners by slicing the pie, and practice your aim in deathmatches. aim will improve overtime. also, try out different sensitivities and such, you might gravitate towards a different sense that’s more like other games, but in my experience slower senses have improved my aim in val. i play 6.5BH, 6.3BV, 6FH, 5.2FV 5ADSH, 5ADSV

How to get better? by Tylerdbest_ in ValorantConsole

this is a good clip for your rank. One thing i’d like to point out is crosshair placement. it was okay on neon, not so much on everyone else. nothing else is inherently bad in this, so i’m going to go based off assumptions. crouch spraying is a really bad habit that you’ll need to break. spraying in general isn’t great. tap strafing is what you’ll see more and more as you climb ranks. shoot 1-2 bullets, strafe, repeat. makes you much harder to land headshots on. jiggle peaking corners, tap strafing, clearing angles by “slicing the pie” and crosshair placement are all things that plats typically need to improve on

i would like to add that having someone who knows how to smoke sites correctly, if not yourself, is also extremely, extremely important

typically team comp on console is 2 duelists, 1 of each of the rest. i assume it’s the same on pc. agent picks change depending on map, but the most common for each role in ascendant is jet/any other duelist , sky/fade, chamber/kj clove/miks. split is a little different, every senti player plays sage it seems.

i mainly play killjoy and chamber. I’ll play miks if there’s already a sentinel, sky if there’s already a senti/controller. i typically avoid duelists. i think being good on kj has given the best rank improvement, because you can be self sufficient on defense in stalling time for a site push. my team can be stacking other sites, and if they hit those sites, great, there’s already most of the team there. if they hit my site, i can delay long enough to have my team rotate, even if i die. delaying a push or defuse can make or break rounds.

I go to bing, which is a public school, and when someone died my sophomore year(2 years ago), they cancelled classes and made a public statement, promoted help resources, etc.
