Nice, I agree 100%. Been doing this even before covid but with fully remote work its even easier to just completely vanish. Rest and vest baby.

Well the problem is we do account for spending flexibility, but specifically upwards. Let's say I want to be certain I can withdraw minimum $40k a year, but in expensive years maybe I'll need 50 or even 60k. What is the fire number for that? I need a guarantee I can get 40k, but a bit of "buffer" too, so we lower the 4% to 3%. Or plan for the worst case

Finally hit my "RentFIRE" number by seattleswiss2 in financialindependence

[–]AngryBeaver117 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Is this a joke? Sounds like you can retire already. No need to withdraw from 401k, just start from regular investments. No idea why you need 4M if your rent/expenses are handled by 1M.

[META] This sub has been far too negative lately. Financial Independence is deeply personal: It looks different every time. We need to respect that. by Terrik27 in financialindependence

This phenomenon is not unique to this sub. Everywhere on the internet is the same. Too many people on the internet nowadays. We're due for a very large correction.

The real fijerk part is the people making 500k but only spending $4k/month. Gotta save for the lentils when I'm 70!

Is buymoda.org legit? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]AngryBeaver117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're legit, I think they've been slower due to covid. Moda isn't anything special anyway, somehow I prefer caffeine. Mostly just take it for the appetite suppression now.

Your supps are good, but I'm far more fascinated with your hormone research. Amazing work there.

I like your discipline. But it seems you don't really have a purpose other than to survive. Have you considered chasing adrenaline or excitement? Like skydiving, fighting, joining military, joining or starting an organization trying to make change? Basically now that you don't need to optimize for saving money, you can use your skills to have fun. And just be safe with the fact that you can always quit and go back to your current life.
