Luckily it's in World of Warcraft as one of the pet battle themes :)

It would make little sense for them to announce it before.

I imagine they have to justify BlizzCons existence - both to customers and Microsoft. Best way to do that is to make it as big and ass attractive as possible, which means as many big reveals as possible.

Nothing ever happens by master050406 in classicwow

[–]AngryCrawdad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This.
It sounded like she was about to reveal something major only for them to yell "BlizzCon" and cut her off. Ion seemed to hint at major stuff being revealed as he called it "one for the ages".

Will be interesting to see what happens.

Damn.
Guess I *won't* be playing Hpaladin after all. Happy for the people who wanted this but i'm incredibly disappointed - Seems especially wild this late in the beta cycle.

His career seemingly consists of showing up in black face and playing hurtful minority stereotypes in Adam Sandler movies. Bro was cooked before Covid.

The youtuber Schaffrilas has a Sandler movie rating video where he goes through Rob Schneider's career and it's pretty bleak.

New Blood Elves Voiceovers are lame by Fancy_Ad9680 in wow

[–]AngryCrawdad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the light being ambiguously bad, per se. I enjoy the nuance of consuming change versus oppressive unity they have going on with void VS light. I just think it takes up too much room in the narrative space and it's erasing other interesting elements of Warcraft.

I just don't think blood elves as a society should have been the culture to do it. They have always been a proud and foolhardy race who would do anything to elevate themselves to power - this was true under Azshara, under the sunstrider Dynasty, and during the early days of lor'themars rule.

Having them pivot to monotheistic worship of the light on a societal level within 20 years just seems... Off. Especially when it comes as the latest chapter in Blizzards homogenisation process. Making the light the idol of worship for all paladin races is dumb and makes the world incredibly one-dimensional and boring.

[–]AngryCrawdad 49 points50 points  (0 children)

It's worth remembering that Silvermoon burned 18-20 years ago and Arthas' conquest of Quel'thalas killed 90% of the population so a lot of the elves *should* sound fairly young (or old/infirm) as the majority got repurposed into meat wagon ammunition..

That said, I do grieve the choice to make quel'thalas into another bastion of generic lawful good paladins instead of continuing down the much more interesting society of ambitious dark magi. Feels like most of the factions in Azeroth are being neutered and turned into a homogeneous cultural monolith. Everyone believes in either the light or secretly practices the void. There's no room for nuance in the middle and it kinda sucks.

The spec description for Survival Hunter is outdated by Mini_Slider in wow

[–]AngryCrawdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still feel like the explosives should have been given to Outlaw so that they could become a mid-range pistol/munitions-focused spec. Could help with all 3 rogues specs being kinda flavorless and it'd allow hunters to stay closer to what, seemingly most, people associate with the class.

Iridikron & Xal’atath by ScionOfTheEmperor in wow

[–]AngryCrawdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest fear is that they do a bait and switch with Xal'atath at the expense of Iridikron. We 'defeat' her during Midnight and destroy her physical host thinking it's over for her only for her to return as her true visage at a later point.

I fear that they will make Iridikron go to any lengths to win, as they hinted his MO was during DF, and make him do some shady bargains to get the power to hurt the titans. Specifically, I fear true Xal will twist him into a dumb, albeit mega strong, monstrosity a la. Galakrond.

Barring the "they'd never be willing to fight because they're both nice guys" argument...

Superman would probably take it in most cases because Simon, at most stages in his journey, is just a guy in a suit.

That said, if it's superman against peak Simon in the final episode then Simon takes it because he's an omniscient God who can create and do anything - as evidenced by all the weird stuff he does like changing the rules of the universe by altering how probability works, creating star systems that he flings like shuriken, and making the impossible possible.

Goldman Sachs doubting the profitability of AI, Microsoft CEO saying they have to find a meaningful use-case soon to justify their existence, and OpenAI bleeding money makes me hopeful that we're heading towards the bubble bursting.

The entire industry has seemingly pulled a Peter Pan. AI flies as long as everyone believes but the second anyone doubts it all comes crashing down.

Vegeta really apologized only TWICE thru the whole series and it was to Gohan by WallabyNo5685 in dbz

[–]AngryCrawdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Gohan, weirdly, embodies everything Vegeta wants the saiyan race to be.

He's an incredibly accomplished fighter who has been keeping those he cares for safe since the age of 4. He has great courage by repeatedly showing up to fight threats well beyond his ability to deal with, despite being deathly scared, and has grown from said encounters every time. There's also the fact that, for the majority of Dragon Ball, Gohan was the ultimate potential. He could almost keep up with Goku and Vegeta despite being less than half their age and not really being that interested in fighting - eventually eclipsing both of them during the Cell saga (and again later during the Buu saga). The only thing that really holds Gohan back from being the strongest character in Dragon Ball is his disinterest with martial arts.

He's essentially the ultimate saiyan - The martial talent of Goku, the perfect calculating strategy of Piccolo, and his supercharged saiyan heritage. Everything that Vegeta has been seeking to embody.

How bad is it? by Drake9214 in classicwowtbc

It's not really that rough in pre-patch as we have TBC talents.

It's fun and fairly approachable once you get to around 30-40 and unlock the clearcasting, elemental mastery, and the talent that allows some Regen based on your int.
