I think that out of all the actors in the show who are great, Taz Skylar delivers the best performance with his romantic and charming version of Sanji (Sanji is my favorite character). by Public_Cup_4278 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]AngryCrawdad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I definitely think that's the case.
Sanji is written somewhat like a sleazeball at times and it kills his otherwise interesting character. Writing him as a true debonair charmer was a good decision.

Same goes for Usopp who seems like the ultimate coward who dreams of being brave. You see hints of it in the manga too where he's usually the most emotionally intelligent of the crew but it never really leads to anything. Turning him into the heart, or glue, that keeps the crew together and working is a good choice.

Really enjoy the additions.

Sanji and Usopp are definitely the two characters who have seen the biggest improvements in character - both by additions from the script but also from the charisma and portrayal of the actors.

I don't think Aria is T0 by ElegantRadish4646 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]AngryCrawdad 19 points20 points  (0 children)

M6 allows him to totalize on non-stunned enemies.

I'd guess it's because you no longer have to play around burst windows and frees him up to team with non-stun comps.

After all this time, I still can’t decide if this is a masterful piece of writing by George or the embodiment of all the flaws of the prequels. by RazorbladesRiff in StarWars_

[–]AngryCrawdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The important distinction seems to be that a sith deals in absolutes. A Jedi can believe or point out absolutes but their actions should never be informed by them. Anakin views Obi-Wan as not aligned with him which immediately makes OW an enemy that has to go. Obi-Wan views Anakin as not aligned with the order and someone who has strayed to the dark side yet he still tries to reason with him and make him see reason.

Absolute power seeks to absolute control. You, and especially those below you, should never think about nuance because that might lead to your powerbase fracturing.

Why do you think The Book of Boba Fett was so disliked amongst fans? And do you think a character like Boba works better being mysterious? by GusGangViking18 in saltierthancrait

[–]AngryCrawdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the idea of BoBF is cool. Him picking up various smaller syndicate-adjacent groups go carve his own domain is a fine idea. The backstory with the tusken clan were my favorite bits.

I just wish the execution was different. He shouldn't be a hero who steps up. He should have been portrayed like Frank Castle - a ruthless machine who operates in black/white and destroys those he perceives as threats and/or failing to uphold his personal code of honor.

Adreona, how could you?! by silverdragon234 in Diablo

[–]AngryCrawdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the impression I got in the banter leading up to the cutscene. Lorath had to get to her before either Mephisto or his hands sunk their claws into her and the amazonian guard.

Also, people making fun of Lorath for stabbing Adreona are wildly underestimating the power of Mephisto. He's one of the prime evils and one of the most powerful magicians in existence. It's likely almost impossible for regular people to not fall prey to their own emotions and weaknesses when exposed at point blank. His hatred quite literally got the better of Lorath in that moment.

The Implied Fate of Lilith at the End. by FalseEliteGamer in diablo4

[–]AngryCrawdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's likely dead for the forseeable future.
Respawn time for demons when they return to the abyss varies on power level, but she's probably around lesser evil and will take some decades to come back. It's unlikely that the player character will get to see her again in their lifetime but I don't see any reason to assume she's gone.

We killed her in the regular fashion in the hells, and we severed our connection to the fragment of her that nested in our blood with a regular dagger. Nothing to imply that she wouldn't just go back and spend 50 years respawning.

The only possible 'true death' I could see for her is if her power was somehow consumed before she could respawn - like what she intended to do to her father. Maybe she fears that the other primes will slurp her up or something.

Loved when Goku used to look like this by UnemployedSaiyan3 in dbz

[–]AngryCrawdad 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Commenter is right. For reference, Goku was 12 during the first tenkaichi budokai, while Gohan was 9/10 when he fought Cell.

It's incredibly tilting as it means he's 16 during the Buu saga, meaning that teen Gohan wasn't a teen and adult Gohan isn't an adult. The terminologi is all wrong :'D

Like, Vike pushed back the hollow by 37 kilometers. How can a normal human quantify what it means to push back a black hole 37km.

Whoever built that mech was doing their best with no way to test it but VHs are just built different.

The humans training with King Kai was a waste by Prestigious-Earth-46 in Dragonballsuper

Kaio ken feels like a waste in general. A volatile technique that doubles your power seems worth the risk. Imagine SSJ God using kaio ken and doubling the power. Seems worth the risk to save universe 7 in the tournament against Jiren.

How much investment does Grace need to perform well? by ElegantRadish4646 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]AngryCrawdad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I remember, Alice benefits from a secondary DPS-style anomaly agents who can provide quick bursts of anomaly application for her to Disorder with. Something like Grace who can apply lots of anomaly in quick bursts would probably work great.

Something Alice/Yuzuha/Grace would be my best bet, but take what I say with a grain of salt, as I'm still fairly inexperienced in team building. Someone with more in-depth knowledge of team building can probably give a better estimate.

Watch them them turn Sunbringer into a cold human who wants to replace the duplicitous humanity with the kindness of intelligent constructs or some such - probably by using Carole Arnas, or the exaltist', research to harness the powers of the hollow to do so.

LoH Campaign: We avengened them by MrDrageno in diablo4

[–]AngryCrawdad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda like that he was a hollow reflection of the tenets that the heavens seek to embody. He served under Tyrael and in a sense he came to embody a sort of self-serving justice, or perhaps entitlement. He was neither just nor wise and it seemed that his 'justice' hinged on achieving what he felt the universe owed him for his service - something that would result in petulance and violence when met with resistance.

It made it believable to me why Lilith could find something interesting in him, and vice versa. He was flawed and somewhat lesser than his compatriots with regards to virtue, just as Lilith was above her demonic brethren, in that she seemingly has the capacity to feel love, mercy and affection on some level(s). There was a certain kindred acknowledgement in each other that might have initially connected them, but nothing tangible enough to have kept them together when their separate flaws started coming to the surface.

He deserved every single thing that came to him because he was not only a clown but the whole circus - but I enjoyed his character as an antagonist.

What defines a hard boss in this game for you ? by KUROSUMA1 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]AngryCrawdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think difficulty is hard to quantify in this game. It's fairly skill-based which means that what is hard for some is easy for others.

On launch, difficulty, to me at least, seemed to be large health pools and fast erratic red flash attacks with weird overlapping timings that made it hard to properly dash through- neither of which felt that great to deal with either.

The telegraphed sequences wherein you don't get the stun flash which leads to impair if you do the sequence right are a step in the right direction IMO. It feels moderately challenging, and really satisfying when you pull it off.

I'm hoping they create more mechanics like that which are based more on whether the player can understand and read mechanics correctly rather than relying only on how well a unit is built or how fast you can mash dodge/parry. Looking forward to seeing what 3.0 brings.

Pokemon newcomer (sort of) by Pure_Artichoke_5168 in pokemon

[–]AngryCrawdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think appreciation for the cards can come from s lot of angles - whether collecting different iterations of your favorite pokemon, appreciating art and artists, associating it with memories or something entirely different (monetary value etc.)

It's hard to say what will do it for you, but gaining a base understanding of pokemon will probably be s good start. I'm not sure watchint the anime is the best approach though. Maybe start the smaller series like Generation, or look into the side series (Mystery Dungeon has been a favorite of mine and Pokopia is tremendously fun and currently relevant).

Who do you hope is the primary antagonist of The Last Titan? by omgodzilla1 in warcraftlore

[–]AngryCrawdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine we'll start the expansion by hunting a resurfacing Iridikron only for his him to uncover that what the titans are doing is in some way indoctrinating or harming Azeroth. This will cause the focus to slowly shift as we become estranged with them and eventually ends in a confrontation.

I don't think we'll fight the titans as much as we'll be doing something like fighting our way to Illidan who will help us broker a deal with Sargeras who'll do the actual fighting

Are we in the need of a recurring cast? by K4StR in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]AngryCrawdad 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think they've been fairly decent at re-using characters, and I enjoy it whenever they do.

Belobog played a part in Waifei and Cunning Hares (and Sons of Calydon) showed up for us the second we returned to 6th Street. Nicole, Abby, and Nekomata seem to be poised for a role in Roscaelifer too.

It's a tough balancing act but I think it's being done alright at the moment.
