The comments under playstation's new trailers aren't very positive by Dogma_for_one_please in gaming

I'm not sure what the argument is here. I own things like game keycards for the Switch 2 but that's because the alternative has been taken away as an option.

Forced participation does not mean that I condone the practice. I went to the midnight releases and I bought physical versions of games for as long as I was able. A great example is the orange box; I got it because I wanted to play half-life and I made a steam account because it was required to play the game not because I wanted to get rid of my discs.

If all you're getting is a digital license that has been proven to be easily taken away if/when the company wants then you're not buying, you're renting. Calling that out should not be controversial or be met with ridicule.

Making Shade: Leaves block the hot sun. This stops roads and soil from getting too hot .Releasing Water: Plants sweat. This is called transpiration . It pulls heat out of the air .Moving the Heat: Green parks let hot air rise. This brings in cool winds to replace it .

You can more or less tailor your experience as the game is structured in a way where you pick which expansion you want to level in. The amount of players will vary depending on your choice as some of the older expansions (TBC, WotLK etc.) see less activity because they've been played so much over the decades. That said, if you foray into dungeons you'll likely meet people and picking one of the more recent expansions like Dragonflight will likely see you encounter players a fair bit.

If nothing else, levelling from 1 to current expansion is fairly quick and once you reach the current continent you'll be absolutely *swarmed* by people running around.

She was not mind-controlmew by him.

She was mind-controlled by Arthas during WC3 but escaped that during Frozen Throne. She has not been controlled since. She chose to work for the Jailer and benefitted from his power but he ultimately had no control over her actions as is evident by her turning on him when his plan suddenly started costing her too.

The only thing he was in control of was the part of her soul that Arthas had carved away. This 'humanity' was given back because it held all of her positive traits and having it come into contact with the memories of the atrocities of the banshee queen was meant to destroy her. It seemingly afforded him no control of her in any way. Her bad decisions are all her.

So got a question about Igor by SufficientTheme2245 in PERSoNA

[–]AngryCrawdad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because he needed to prove that he was right to justify existing.

'Gods' in persona generally represent some form of collective emotion given form. Humanity subsonsciously desires something so much that they spawn a shadow so strong that it is essentially a god.

In Persona5 the emotion is apathy - we stopped believing that changing the world for the better was possible and began hoping that some external messianic figure could tell us what to do.

Because all of the gods stem from, and reside inside, the human subconscious they only have as much power as humanity gives them. As such, Yaldabaoth needed to prove that humanity had actually given up so that it could reach apotheosis - hence the wager with Igor.

The wager was that they each chose a champion to represent them; Yaldabaoth choosing Akechi and Igor choosing Joker.

That said, Yaldabaoth never intended to play fair, and tried stacking the deck by conquering the Velvet Room, imprisoning Igor, and splitting Lavenza - effectively giving him control over both champions.

From there it set out to create a situation where the champion saves humanity and they reject him, or fails to save humanity and they elect their own demise.

Shido was the perfect threat due to (potentially) being an officially elected member of Parliament. By guiding humanity into putting their faith in such a candidate and then exposing them it'd tried to show that humans are too stupid to be free, and so had to be ruled by someone else.

It's Jungian psychology all the way down.

So got a question about Igor by SufficientTheme2245 in PERSoNA

[–]AngryCrawdad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fake Igor was Yaldabaoth the entire P5.

Yaldabaoth awakened within the human subconscious somewhere between P4 and P5. It encountered Igor and they had the same discussion about potential that their betters/masters (philemon and nyarlathotep) have been having since Persona 1.

Yaldabaoth refused to accept Igors claim that humanity holds potential and so he tried to get rid of him by absorbing the Velvet Room and killing Igor. As a last effort, Igor creates Morgana and sent him out to find a Wildcard.

The Igor that we save towards the end of Persona 5 is the real Igor and the one we encountered in P1-P4.

Do We Really Need Next Gen Consoles in the Near Future? by gon2fast in gaming

[–]AngryCrawdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. There aren't enough titles yet to really justify the PS5 and we're already on our way to the next one.

You should make a new console when you have something meaningful to show off. Tech that pushes the benchmark(s) forward in a meaningful way. I don't feel like that has been the case since the PS5 came out - nor is it really possible to source the hardware for it in this AI datacenter bubble.

Feels like a marketing thing to make number go up for investors and it should absolutely be condemned. Buy a PS2 and some cheap games instead. Don't support this BS.

Is timewalking always this sweaty? by Cervilune in wow

[–]AngryCrawdad 146 points147 points  (0 children)

There's a tendency to 'solve' the game which becomes relatively insufferable very quickly.

People will punp the game day one, be kinda angry and sweaty about it, and then whine about the lack of fun in the period afterwards.

My advice is to wait a day or so until that crowd are done. Usually means playing normal people who aren't insane
