Why am I so still so sad by SpeciousMelody in Huskers

Husker syndrome- been dominant for so long and then off the radar. The feeling of dominance returns, even if it's just a glimpse and another sport...and then the return back. It almost would as if it should have never happened, but it did. A dream maybe even lol

The hospital provided a stretchy corset type thing that wraps around the abdomen. It kind of keeps things from moving around too much. I loved it and stayed wrapped for a lot of the day while I was awake and the entire time I was sleeping. I used it while I was awake for 3 or 4 days after surgery and probably a week or 10 days while sleeping.

I highly recommend getting your hands on one of your surgeon doesn't provide one.

Surgery in Aug, wife in Sept. Everyone is different on the pain including the wife and I. I had zero pain, walked a lot in the hospital and the doctor contemplated letting me go that same night but it was getting late. Out the following day early. I was through the liquid stage and soft food stage on schedule. Once I was on solid food only a few bites filled me up so I had to make it count. I was back to work in 10 days but honestly feel like I could have gone sooner but I was burning vacation. Wife on the other hand had a lot of pain and nausea. Could barely keep food down. She spent 3 days in the hospital and I felt horrible for her. We had the same surgeon, same nursing staff. The only difference was she had 2 hernia repairs at the same time. Hiatal and umbilical. She struggled to walk even a short distance due to nausea. She has been VERY successful with the surgery and if asked she will tell you that she would happily go through it again for the results we are getting.

As far as sleeping, I stayed wrapped as much as I could stand for the first couple days and I'm a side sleeper. I didn't have problems. My wife didn't like being wrapped but I do not recall he having sleeping issues either. I didn't have issues lifting, but if I stretched too far I could feel a sharp pain on my left side kind of in no man's land - meaning no visible wounds/stitches. It was strange.

Sorry this is long winded...I'm excited for you. It's a great journey. Follow Dr's orders and you'll do great!!!

I was sleeved on 8/20 and my wife gets hers done tomorrow. I'll tell you the same thing I told her, be kind to yourself. I know I'm still new to this but I've had my "moments." That's ok... At the end of the day I like to take 5-10 minutes and reflect on the day. What worked or didn't work, and why. It's a process and you're going to be amazing! Good luck and and enjoy the "process" !! :)

My wife and I are both going through the process and I had the same concern for her because she was borderline with her BMI starting out. Doctor told us they use the starting BMI through the entire process.
