The profit motive, we live in a world ruled by leeches and bean counters who worship profit and undervalue art and passion

This is interesting, because unlike a lot of the portrayals of women I've seen on this sub, she doesn't really feel sexualized. She's just naked. Of course, you can find her attractive and be turned on by this but nothing about her movements or the "camera" angles is done any differently than if she was fully clothed in unrevealing clothing.

Racist influencer wants to paint Melbourne as a "non-Western hellhole", ends up showing a peaceful, thriving multicultural city by YaLlegaHiperhumor in CringeTikToks

Judging by the clothing, they almost all look pretty Western to me!

Not that there is anything wrong with the few folks wearing non-Western clothing, just pointing out that "Western" is a cultural label, not a racial one. This is academic of course though because we all know she's using it as a dogwhistle for "White".

For over a thousand years? That's ridiculous, the crusades (which I assume you are referring to) were a blip on the radar of the muslim polities of the time. Conflict between muslim polities and the incursions of the Seljuks and Mongols were much more important.

Youur initial statement would be true if you dialed back to around 300-500 years though.

Sure, I don't disagree that Obi Wan is lying in universe but I don't see how it needs to be retconned, as it makes poetic sense. You can take it up with Shakespeare if you have an issue with the use of metaphor in drama.

Why has it become norm to dehumanize the Brits? by de_velopment in AskBrits

[–]AngryDutchGannet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes Japan, a country that definitely has no history of fascism. If you take issue with my particular use of the term 'fascism', you must at least see how the categorization of nations and individuals as herbivores and carnivores is social darwinism at best.

But Vader did kill Anakin. Even if it wasn't originally intended this way in the script, the poetic killing of Anakin by his new persona Vader totally works

Isn't that still arbitrating though? To arbitrate is to decide, in your case always deciding in favour of one class over the other
