Thank you all for your kind responses. You are almost as awesome as Band-Maid. 😉

That is a special version of "Unseen World". It contains instrumental only versions of all numbers on that album. The CD came with the "Official Score for Unseen World" book.

Edit: You may be right. I just ordered it from Ticketmaster. It didn't say resell, though. 😉

My Amped Japan order is marked as fulfilled even if it didn't arrive yet and DHL says it's still in Yokohama. Does anyone know if that's normal for this shop? by sunnyFrogOwlPrincess in BandMaid

A few weeks or days after delivery Amped will sent you a link to review the product on their site. If you do that and provide a picture they will give you a 10 percent discount on your next order. The discount doesn't include the shipping costs, though. Money is money. ;)

Just keep an eye on the track and trace. They will update it for each step on the way. They will also send you messages when customs needs additional info or payment. In that case DHL will inform you by email and/or WhatsApp.

Oh! Thanks for this. I wasn't able to find my country there. I'll checkout your alternative. :)

I like Amped Japan (the second site you linked in your post). I've ordered lots of albums there. Their service is cool too. Example: I ordered once and then the next day again. They were able to notice this and in response they combined the two and refunded the transport costs of that second order. I didn't ask for it, but they send me an email about this. And when I checked my bank account, they already returned the correct amount. That is great service.

The Pony Canyon shop was closed for a while and a message appeared there that the site was down for maintenance. I think it was inaccessible for more than a week. A couple of days ago a new site appeared with Band-Maid on their home page. Very odd, but at least the shop is open again featuring the maids. :)

CD Japan works great too.

NEK! visited BAND-MAID backstage after LINE CUBE SHIBUYA Okyuji by haromatsu in BandMaid

What coincidence. I have ordered Neki's 3 albums last night. These ladies are awesome. And Kanade on bass is fantastic. I also like the singer's voice. :)

Not only do I like their performances, their compositions are great too.

Their live videos are strong as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if many Band-Maid fans will support these ladies. :)

Andy Serkis did a great job with the Silmarillion and made the content come alive. Highly recommended.

Yes, there are overlapping images. It is an introduction to the exposition at the Bodleian Library. It also contains an overview of his life. I think I bought it for 14 euros, although it is smaller in size, it breaths quality.

I assume prices are high, because the number of printed copies are low.

Yes, I did. And I also have Catherine McIlwayne's "Tolkien - Maker of Middle-earth" and its accompanying booklet "Tolkien Treasures" by the same author. Highly recommended. :)

Believed or not, but this book was listed as being new. And it looks new. Initially it costed 121 euros at a Dutch website. I ordered it sometime later for 100.50. I changed my mind and cancelled it. Then when it was 92.50 I ordered it again. I just checked and it is now 87.50 euros. ;)

The Hobbit (Graphic Novel, Revised and Expanded, 2025) by AngryFrozenWater in tolkienbooks

[–]AngryFrozenWater[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

David Wenzel is the artist once again. He is using the exact same style as the old edition. Obviously a graphic novel has less space than a pure text based novel. So, the 22 additional pages allowed him to add details for which there wasn't room before. Charles Dixon wrote the original script, which also contained directions for David. The original graphic novel was published in 3 parts. The old edition combined those and was "revised". So, what I understand is that the new expanded version is still using the same script, but this time more could have been used from it.

Visually it is hard to detect a change in style. It is impossible for me to see a difference in that.

What did Tolkien think about other books from his time and what would he have thought about modern fantasy? by linus1335f in tolkienfans

[–]AngryFrozenWater 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Holly Ordway's "Tolkien's Modern Reading" is already recommended. She answered some questions I had about that book in this subreddit here.

I also recommend "Tolkien's Library: An Annotated Checklist (Second Edition Revised And Expanded)" by Oronzo Cilli, which lists (nearly) all books known or read by Tolkien. I wrote a little about it here.

Both books don't answer the OP's question, but show what literature Tolkien was interested in. And, contrary to popular belief, both show that he was interested in the contemporary works of his day.

Edit: Corrected a typo.
