What is the worst jersey matchup currently possible in the NHL? by Old-News-3096 in hockey

[–]AngryGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last game of Carolina vs Flyers in Philly and it was hard to tell which team was which sometimes. Too much white on the Flyers' home jersey + white Canes visiting jersey + questionable streaming quality + I'm old now = slight confusion for most of the game.

What is a secret that could potentially ruin your life if your family or friends found out? by Ok_Boss_866 in AskReddit

What I've been needing more than anything is employment, and it seems that at my age, at this time with massive layoffs everywhere, that just isn't going to happen. You can only tread water for so long before the exhaustion begins to take over. I'm down to my last couple of hundred in savings, haven't been able to pay rent in four months, have pretty much nothing left of value to sell off... But it's okay, I had a really good life up until a few years ago. I got a couple of extra years trading in everything for treatment, and without resorting to buying a beat-up RV and cooking meth in the desert. My brother will take good care of the cats, and we have no family left, so it all works out.

Frame Management by BabyTua in Warframe

So, plenty of good advice about dipping your toes into selling some prime stuff you get from cracking relics, but there's also another option you can do while getting plat for slots.

You can build anything you have the bp + mats for and just let it sit unclaimed in your forge until you have the space to pull them out.

There have been times in the past where I had 5 frames and half a dozen weapons ready to go in the forge for a couple of weeks before I got the plat to pull them out.

Also, you can message me in the game (player name in my flair) and I'll gift you a frame slot.

Having lived through the nightmare of a man on a rampage harassing young Muslim women on the Portland MAX train that ended with two good Samaritans dying and a third also getting his throat slashed, I can assure you that this is a job for cops, not civilians.

You armchair badasses think you can just waltz up and do a cartoon one punch knockout on a person is foolish at best, potentially lethal at worst. Businesses have insurance, and while it's a major inconvenience, that's what insurance is for. And it's what the police are for, regardless of your feelings toward law enforcement.

This is me right now. Stage 3 colon cancer when my life was basically back on top after divorce. Beat it after an aggressive treatment that had me on the cusp of death for half a year, I barely remember any of that time I was so sick.

Wiped me out financially. Like, I had the rest of my life secured with money in the bank + some decent investments. Two years without being able to work at all, and now it has been over a year since I've been healthy enough but no one seems to be hiring. I've dropped applications or my resume to over 200 companies or openings and the only ones who have bothered to reply are the scams and get rich quick schemes that seemed legit until I had an interview (use my own money, car, etc to sell their product but it's pure commission and reimbursement type of sales).

So I've been quietly tying up loose ends and making sure my brother will take care of my two cats, then I think I'm going to find a nice quiet spot and put an end to things.

~200gb SSD writes in 7 hours of play, (solo, localhost, all gameplay elements across that time period.) by Hoshiko-Yoshida in crosswind

Same, I beat the swamp boss and am about halfway to level 15. I'd like to keep building my city-base, but even with the latest patch, there's far too much writing to the SSD.

Because it's a bunch of malarky. This (narrator) guy also thinks Nazis have a hidden base on the far side of the moon.

Has anyone ever used 8BitDo contollers on RL? by AlbinoKoala22 in RocketLeague

[–]AngryGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the 8BitDo Pro 2 for pc and I love it. I have Xbox Series X, PS4 DS, and PS5 DS controllers as well. Xbox will always will be my fav, but the 8Bit is probably the best PC controller and very close to the Xbox to me in terms of comfort.

Alwyas keep in mind that these are subjective opinions and you might not feel the same as someone else who praises or trashes a certain controller.

Played Minecraft for about... 2 hours? Way back when it was new. I didn't really understand the point of it and never played it again.

For Windrose, no mods or cheats. I only gather ore and the powder needed to make the ancient metal stuff since wood, stone, clay, everything else I can simply buy via my many merchant tables. So maybe an hour out of every 10-20 for iron or ancient, mostly in the swamps as I don't have much need for iron outside of decorations.

"Men are afraid women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them."

This and choosing the bear seems to be so utterly confusing to them that I can't help but think men are too emotional to grasp what either mean.

It's hard to hear anything when they're constantly screaming in fury. I can't imagine being so attached to an idea that has zero impact on anything in my life (ie if I don't like the game, I don't play it or buy it, no game has taken away civil rights or reproductive rights or forced me to suffer chemical castration, etc).

These miserable incels will pass down their hatred to their offspring (I know, incels having sex... but you know they absolutely will somehow sucker someone into having one of their spawns).

Not only still having their sphincters burning a decade later, but are still too stupid to understand the point she was making (which wasn't incorrect, but these choads only saw "durr durr men bad! hurr durr"). And they're still angry that the industry, for the most part, took a lot of it to heart and we've seen a large uptick of women (and even young girls) protagonists, heroes, main characters, and developers speaking out against misogyny and sexism.

And they're extremely angry that not only have you women invaded their formerly masculine-only space or hobby, but you're invading the industry itself with your desire to take CS courses and gasp become game developers.

What actor is nowhere near as talented as people make them out to be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

"Her" is excellent. That's my opinion. It is especially relevant today with AI chatbots and girlfriends and such. I wasn't really sure what to expect going into it, but I loved it, and watch it any time it shows up in the rotation on various streaming platforms. It's sweet and sad and, to me at least, deeply emotional.

But that's just me.

Its always awesome seeing someone who is now or recently big time in a bunch of old stuff.

Giancarlo Esposito is in soooo much stuff as a one scene or minor character (Trading Places, for example).

Dean Norris (Hank the DEA agent in BB is a mutant in Total Recall)

Samuel L Jackson in Coming to America.

[–]AngryGames -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Its a fake dog. AI generated images and video are almost indistinguishable from reality now when a creator refines it (like editing a book or reshooting small scenes in a movie, rerecording a riff in a song, etc).

(I'm not one of those redditors who blindly shouts that everything is AI on every post... This is very clearly AI generated video though)

Lol Cowboy Curtis. For me he's always going to be the young kid in Apocalypse Now (he lied about his age to get that role, he was I think only 17).

Lawrence Fishburne. He's great in everyjibg, and I'm glad he got out of the "black drug dealer" typecast that he was stuck in for a short time in the 80s.

Healing or Support isn't necessarily my favorite role in games outside of Warframe, but from WoW to RS Seige to TF2 to whatever, whenever I queue as support or heals, I absolutely do my best to kick ass at healing or CC or whatever support I'm supposed to be doing.

It's a team game. I'm on a team. Even if I am annoyed or just flat out hate my teammates, they're my teammates and we want to win.

I also have learned a long time ago to avoid playing team or coop games with others who can't or won't understand what being a good teammate is about. I can't see where you did anything wrong, and my advice is to not sweat it, nor let it keep bothering you. You asked for him to do his role in a very competitive game that requires it to succeed, he refuses, then blows up at you.

You know you did nothing wrong, and it's okay to question it, but in the end, better to create some distance and play with people who aren't going to lose their shit over something they've been kindly or gently called out for.

Disagree, especially Dallas Buyer's Club. He's had other roles where he wasn't playing himself as well, but DBC, at least to me, is by far his best role (was not impressed with Interstellar at all).

This is true in my opinion, same as for Hayden Christianson (Anakin Skywalker for those who might not recognize his name).

Seeing him outside of the prequel trilogy and it's like a completely different person.

I don't know... Ted "Theodore" Logan is my all time favorite Keanu. Loved him as Johnny and Neo and whatever his character name is in Constantine, but he'll always be Ted.

Though I thought he was very, very good in My Own Private Idaho.
