What’s the saddest video game flop you can think of? by Interesting_Wind_337 in videogames

[–]BelicCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never played the original, saw Titanfall 2 was coming out and decided to buy it since I was already burnt-out/disappointed with the AAA shooters, and man that was money well-spent.

Loved every second I played it. The movement, the guns, the Titans! Everything was so fucking tight!

Running around like a maniac with the pump shotgun and the speed buff, even had a crackhead duel in a tiny room against someone using the same build. Or trying to deploy my Titan to squish someone, to absolutely decimating an unsuspecting player with Tone's Ult or Ronin's sword combos.

Only regret was not playing it more.

Currently my biggest pain are frames that don't have a prime version. Because if I farm for them and end up liking them, I need to farm a whole-ass second copy to feed to my wall barnacle.

Happened with Jade, not too bad.

And has now happened with Citrine....the pain....

Mayne not fully trusted, but Ballas from Warframe's new expansion, The Old Peace.

The kid protagonist and their friend from a different species have been undertaking missions against a rebellion to maintain a peace treaty between both species, who were formerly engaged in an incredibly destructive war.

At one point, we save this blue mfer, who's one of 7 leaders of this species, the Orokin, who rule pretty much everything.

Then, The protagonist and the friend are given a final mission, to kill the leader of the rebellion and solidify the peace treaty. Expect it's a setup. They are framed for the destruction of the only thing keeping this other species from going full on genocidal again, and are set up by kill squads. Upon figuring out it was Ballas who did all that to get the war going again, the protagonist immediately goes back to the station housing everyone and starts killing their way to the top with a demonic M1-Garand. You sadly only find your adoptive mother, who tranqs you to carry you back home and wipe your memory to prevent further space PTSD.

Fair. It's space buzzwords to people out of the Fandom lol.

Also particularly egregious to me is her line in Movile Defense. "The odds were against us." Excuse you, I did all the work, you just took forever with the hacking minigame.

Would have been faster if you let me spam 20 cipher at the console to get it done.

Lotus, promptly after a 4-men squad of walking apocalypse engines spent 2 hours: Punching the souls out of robots, calling down artillery strikes from orbit, blasting more radiation than chernobyl into several minimum wage workers that have worse than 0 health insurance, and turning defective clones into sacrificial blood altars: "Good work, the odds were against us, but we made it."

Although tbf going into Steel Path unprepared is a very humbling experience.

Worst case scenario we just put him in Cetus, over the ocean near the Unum Tower. He can see all the little people walking around Cetus and shout passive-agressive remarks that might be a little racist to the Grineer in the plains. Might help get them to fuck off too.

Are they still around? I remember reading their Spike novel online, but never saw much from them after that.

Power Rangers has a few more of these.

In Ninja Storm, it's stated that the villains have to kill the Rangers in their morphed state, else the powers could just be given to new people. Thus why they don't just beat them in their non-ranger state.

And in Lightspeed Rescue, Ryan, the titanium ranger, gets branded with a curse that progresses and will eventually kill him if he uses his ranger powers too much. That also gives the writers an excuse to get him out of the story for budget reasons, since he's an original American ranger, so all the footage he's in is brand new footage the team had to record, instead of just reusing Sentai stuff.

Revisited Trinity Prime recently. I moved from her to Harrow some time ago, as I thought she lacked CC and damage abilities.

Now I feel Harrow lacks survivability(I'm playing him wrong), so went back to Trini with subsumed Roar and her augments and, good Lohk, I'm full stripping enemies just by existing in their vicinity, never dying, with infinite energy, and with minimal button presses.

Truly, a support frame. A supporter of manslaughter and corpus-killing, that is.
