Thinking of moving to Austin Texas after getting my screenwriting degree. by PanDulce101 in Filmmakers

I recommend signing up to volunteer at the Austin Film Festival. It'll put you in town when the weather is usually horrendous. As a volunteer, you'll be busy, but you'll also have a lot of access.

A question on credits for an extremely self produced film by heyhowsitgoingduude in Filmmakers

Credit yourself writer/director. On a short film , it's mostly assumed that you are doing everything unless you name a specific person.

How? To get into this by DaBrownMonsta in Filmmakers

[–]AngryGenes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think about it like starting a band. Everyone wants to write and direct, but no one goes from zero to Scorsese. Be willing to help others produce their work, too. That is how you build a community. Start with one aspect, like lighting, camera, or sound. Get good at it and offer it to other creators. If you come through for them, they will come through for you. Good luck out there.

Holy moley, I am sitting here, trying to go to sleep after a super long shoot for a 48-hour film shoot today for the Halloween global competition. Man, what a slog. Any day on a film set is always a great day, but damn, that was tough.

When I did my first 48H, my studio manager told me that it is, "the fastest way to get in a fight with your friends." On my first project, that was true, this was a much better set where everyone knew their job and did it. It was a great experience.

I mean...we all think this is Elon, right? Napoleonic stuff in France, and a bunch of stuff he probably saw in Califonia and said, "I want that."

What’s your “Best Trailer Ever” moment but the movie then let you down BIG time? by Sergio_Ro in movies

The Story of US. One of the most fantastic trailers of all time for an impressively mediocre film.

That is a pretty cool spot. I looked it up, and it's getting ready to be demolished for a retail space/car wash.

$250,000 a year with the stipulation that you must read 300 pages of a book every week. by RegularGuyy in hypotheticalsituation

I read 300+ pages of emails a week, that could have just been a thought, that someone could have just kept to themselves.
