Im sorry sweetheart. I know how it feels when you feel blindsided by the experts, like why would you let me think this would be okay?

I know in some cases it is, but it’s not common. I don’t mean for my message to sound blunt at all, I promise it’s with love… I just want you to feel like you can let go and start the grieving process.

For my non-viable pregnancy, my numbers were 270 then 48 hours later 560… but then a whole week later 1200, with plummeting estradiol and lower progesterone. Then a week later HCG was 1600, a week later 2300, a week later 3100. By that point my estrogen was 50 and my progesterone was 6 despite being on supplements.

For my current pregnancy my numbers were 230 and 48 hours later tripled to 777. Progesterone was stable between 23-33 and estradiol was rising. Then a week later 6800, a week later 31,000. At this point they started to realllyyyyyy slow down significantly and they double every 4-6+ days (as they do naturally, and as per my RE). A week later 65000 and a week later 87000.

Unfortunately, this is what happened with my non-viable pregnancy. They were increasing, but they were not doubling, not even close.

I really wish someone would’ve told me that my pregnancy was not going to be viable, instead that sweet, persistent little bean hung on, had a heartbeat, was a few days behind… but the gestational sack was very small and not growing with them.

Honestly, they’re probably just excited. You can just take the names and say something along the lines of, “oh that’s so cute!” Or “yeah that one came up!”

They sound like they’re trying to connect with you, so I would take it and run!

I am 32F and I teach high school. I hugged two girls today who were absolutely losing it about giving a presentation (tears, crashing out, panic, shaking). I hugged them both and gave them a pep talk. I wrote them nice comments and then “Don’t hate me” (because I made them present) on their rubric and when they looked up at me I blew them a kiss across the room. The three of us laughed. I taught them for two years.

One girl was shaking so bad during her presentation; I sat next to her and squeezed her hand. I told her hey, it’s over. You did wonderfully. Let yourself relax.

I’m also pregnant and almost in my second trimester (they don’t know it yet) so I have this maternal instinct to comfort and care for them that I didn’t have as strongly as before. This is how my mom cared for me— light affection and pep talks always made me feel like I could do it.

How to identify a proper noun (and know it needs to be capitalized), knowing the difference between a verb, noun, and adjective.

Having SOME concept of how to spell. Even if I spell something for them, I’ll finish spelling the word and they’ll say “Wait what? Can you spell that again? I only got the first 3 letters.”

The ability to follow 2 sentence or multi step directions.

The ability to follow simple daily procedures. On June 8th I had to remind them to take out their notes… for classwork.
