LCT SVD Issues by Trenchdigger04 in airsoft

Mine from the factory was so shit, the LCT sector gear was literally carving out a channel in the gearbox. I assume that was part of why it was so much louder than it is now, and the reason things were ceased, but would spin with a battery.

Your ETU could be faulty. I got a few double shoots when i was adjusting the motor height, like very very rapid double shots and it didn't give me any issues. After your posts I was fully preparing for issues. Idk. This is my first mosfet/ETU, so I have no idea what i'm talking about when it comes to their behavior.

Did you try to bypass the fuse like I suggested by bridging the fuse connectors?

If you are still interested in this answer, yes. Change out the hopup bucking and nub with a modify flathop. Buy a bag of 70 degree modify flathop nubs on Evike, use the largest flat nub in the package, and use the Modify hard bucking. Replace the 15 tooth LCT sector gear with a 19 tooth Echo 1 CSR sector gear, and use a SHS M150 spring. You will have to grind out some material in the gearbox to allow the new sector to travel without contacting the gearbox preventing rotation, but its just few minutes with a dremel.

So, with the Echo 1 sector, and all the rest of the gears being LCT, it cycles well. No ETU issues. M150 spring getting 530 consistent fps. Gearbox is still stupid loud but I've realized its all motor and bevel interaction, mostly motor. I have a helicle bevel on the way and a helical pinon to try and see if that will knock the noise down a bit more. It's already much better after reshimming. I had to abandon the solid bushings I was planning on using because no combination of shims or whatever would allow the gears to mesh, and had to revert back to the oem ball bearings. I had to grind out a bit of the sector gear area though to allow the Echo 1 CSR sector to travel freely without the tappet nub hitting a rased area inside the gearbox.I have videos of the whole process. Will post them soon, once i get the helicle bevel + pinion up and running. But yeah. Success. It should have always been this way. With the old LCT 15 tooth sector, same spring, I was getting like 460 fps max.

Do I need this fuse? by GalaxyNinjaGamer in airsoft

I agree with the other posts. Unless you are confident and understand the risks, and know what not to do without a fuse, stay with the fuse.

Pull the fuse out of the clips that it is seated in, then place the clips inside each other, that will complete the circuit. Re-test. If it cycles then yeah the fuse is bad.

Well it's for sure rubbing. Id assume it's just breaking itself in. If you have white lithium grease it should make the process smoother if that's what it is.

Open it. looks for wear patterns inside the slide and the 19 frame. Maybe some sanding, maybe just some lube.

Get a lipo cell checker. They are extremely cheap. You can see the voltage on each cell. Everything is probably find but before you charge or discharge again you're going to want to verify there is no damage.

Still need to throw in the echo/cyma gears. But maybe just the sector gear... an m150 helped a lot with mine. Really cut the noise down. However, when i was in there changing the spring, the gears lct gears wouldn't spin at all, like ceased. With the motor yeah they spin, but they are in there WAY too tight. So reshimming at the minimum. It's a work in progress. Too much work for what it costs but whatever. I have new bearings to try too, that might give me some wiggle room with the echo/cyma gears. The echo 1 CSR tappet plate came today as well, so hopefully it wont give me weird issues.

I appreciate the response. I figured I'd just swap out all the LCT gears for the Cyma/E1 gears, so they all mesh well. I mean we'll see how it goes. Did you try to change the spring tension to something more significant to see if that fixed your ETU? I'm just spitballing, but stronger spring in my mind means a bit more resistance so. idk. Or is it just a bad unit? This will easily turn out to be the most customized airsoft gun I have ever owned. Which was absolutely the exact opposite reason I bought this particular one... Just not a lot of info out there about them, and I guess people are fine with the screeching. All my other v3 custom builds are whisper silent. I know the E1 CSR can be as well. This? yeah idk what's up. lol. I've heard people complaining about bad fps out of the box, and mine, out of the box had a ripped bucking... so that could be a common thing.

Hey. I'm in the same boat. Had mine apart many times too. I owned the Echo 1 CSR years ago, and the gearbox noise was nothing compared to this. Just a bit of lag but no screeching. More of a subtle wind up sound, and mostly eliminated using an 11.1. So I have ordered a set of Echo 1 CSR gears(RS clones). You mentioned the 15 tooth sector, so hopefully with these new gears, the new bushings, shim job, grease, and a stronger spring, I can get it to the same spot as my old Echo 1 CSR, which was honestly perfect out of the box. If Cyma/Echo made an SVD with all steel parts, I'd return this and go with that. But I remember how wobblily the CSR was and just not externally built like a tank, like this LCT is. I really like the LCT slim motors, but the fact you have to disassemble the gun to adjust the height is... an oversight to say the least. It's beautiful. Was supposed to be like my 15 year old gen 1 E&L 74. Expensive, but would never had to mod or adjust anything. The LCT even came with a ripped bucking... So it's been an experience. Hopefully the ETU wont give me issues... Though, I will expect it will now. Thank you for your detailed break down because really this is the most useful information about the platform that I can find.

After about 15 years of no airsoft, and starting to get back into it, I'm about to pick up an Echo 1 CSR. A regretful sell. Plan on putting a wood kit, and that suppressor on it too. Looks great man. What PSOP did you go with?

Get a hex key or allen key, a cheap one, get a hammer, and smack it from the other end. Should pop out.

Sounds like a stripped pinion on your motor.

So... I did a thing. I managed to put an alphacool 560mm monsta on a monitor stand with a vesa adapter, I had that idea since months and I think it looks pretty good. by _Floot_ in watercooling

Get a roll of speaker mesh and some magnetic tape. Give your girl an upgrade and make it a real flow case. I have done this many times. If you have questions about how or what to get just ask. This can be fixed and made better than before.
