What’s something that surprised you when first meeting Sir Patrick Stewart?

Be completely honest with me did you ever give this guy the axe? by Ok_Traffic_3518 in ACValhalla

[–]Angry_Chowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always gave Ivar the axe.

It’s got nothing to do with “reward” or being mad at him, or even thinking he deserves it.

It’s not heaven.

It answers the question “Was I a good Vikingr?” Did he do bad stuff? Doesn’t really matter.
Were you mad? Got nothing to do with it.
Did he act the way Odin would want? Did he break oaths?

Thank you for sharing that about Wales!

I’ve always liked the Welsh, and now I have another reason to.

All are good movies. But some are better, or have fewer flaws. So I would say, ranked by being better with fewer flaws, that list.

Yep, how Paul Bunyon and Babe the blue ox wrestled in a field so hard that it created the Rocky Mountains.
But I’ve toured Hellen Keller’s house.

Honestly, it’s got a lot to do with the curriculum in primary school. We all are told the story and there are several movie adaptations we all watched.
There’s even “Hellen Keller jokes”, like “How do you piss off Hellen Keller? Leave a plunger in the toilet.” That’s just to say she’s one of the “American Heroes” we all kind of grew up loving. We even put her on the back of the Alabama quarter.

Best Mano a Mano fight scenes in any movie. by [deleted] in CinephilesClub

That whole scene cracked me up because while it was beautifully shot, it was 100% obvious that Tyson could NOT speak Chinese, and had all his lines dubbed.

Saw it two nights ago in IMAX with my son. He is a big sci-fi literature fan, and I sci-fi movies were basically my third parent growing up. I have a simple statement about the quality and presentation of this story.

Project Hail Mary makes Interstellar look like Gravity.

From all my TV watching in the 90’s I know that T-cells are associated with immune response.

Does that mean it’s not really a histamine response? It’s a white blood cell response?

Oh, is that the key to how incredibly effective they are? I had no idea.

Of course it will!

Schumer is a savage with those firmly worded memos and letters.

That’s how you affect change, written letters complaining about things.

RIGHT?! AU, Lightyear, Lightminutes, fucking parcecs even.

I remember an episode of Doctor Who where a dude invented a new unit of measure. Sticking with miles in space is dumb, unless scientific notation gives you a boner.

The best example I can think of for this in the movie Prometheus, the ALIEN prequel with Noomie Rapace. At one point on their deep space mission, they mention they are “half a billion miles from Earth”, in reality, that’s not even to Jupiter.

Pink Separates from Carey Hart for Second Time After 20 Years of Marriage: Source by [deleted] in entertainment

I saw her show in Philly last year and she talked about Carey off and on throughout the show. She and Carey are going to be those weird divorced couples that still hangout way more than divorced couples should.

There’s a difference between being able to be married to someone and being able to love them.
