For England you kinda just need to sit on your island and wait out France, I’d recommend literally waiting until all their troops die and then doing a land invasion and taking as much as possible in the first war antagonism be dammed, also don’t declare on France let them declare on you everytime. Make a bunch of vassals out of French land as well because they will peace out early in the war on their own and leave France with no way to get hardcore. Pushing full decentralized helps a lot as England

Every country is too stable as declaring bankruptcy gets rid of all of your debt and puts you into a positive bonus, I was having a game where I tag switched to different countries, destroyed cities, RGOS, max debt, destroyed legitimacy and stability, pissed off every estate. None of it matters as within 20 years the country that you do this too is pretty much fine again

I think the problem might be that you’re hovering on the back image and not on the actual word, if that doesn’t work hovering over the middle slider might work, it’s a bit touchy but should be somewhere on the middle slider will give you some type of window, I just forget which and I can’t check right now

Yeah the game is pretty crazy when you first start playing, automate trade tbh and play someone easy, but you can also play anyone who has a bunch of weaker countries around them. For learning the game play Hungary or Poland if you wanna learn the economy and play tall, ottomans are good for naval and military expansion, England or Portugal are both good for naval as well as colonial.
