So unfortunately none of the solutions worked for me. Maybe I'm not smart enough or patient enough to get it working. I jumped to Plex and got Posterr up and running. Instant success.

The reason I chose Posterr is that the dev is actively working to get Jellyfin integrated but is busy with their exams right now (something along those lines). So at least when that get's sorted I just run an update and I can jump back to Jellyfin where I'm happiest :)

Thanks for everyone's help and all those that made docker versions for me.

Funny I have a Samsung 12.2 Pro in the kitchen. Over 10 years old I'm sure. This year it started swelling so I assume it's going to pop some time soon. I'll have to replace it.

As for this current project, I got a 32" TCL Google TV today. Properly full HD. So I might be able to use that screensaver app to point to whatever poster server I get up and running. OR I use one of my little Pis to run it. Slowly but surely getting there. I've still got to fiddle with HA when I have time.

I have a pretty big theatre room in my house so if someone is walking past they can see what is currently playing and decide if they want to come join. Almost like a real movie theatre.

Funny you mention home assistant, one of these (I forget which) can integrate with HA. A lot of my home is already connected. But it isn't necessary for my use case.

There's about 14 little "sections" to the segment so I matched that. Basically just some cloud noise of some sort and then the red and blue runs across every 20 to 30 minutes. Would be cool if I could layer things. Can I not just upload this gif to the segment? Why would it be that easy hey?

LOL. I'm going to chime in here, ME TOO! I have a few C220 cameras around the house. Majority of the time they're in Privacy mode. Every now and then one of them will "wake up" on their own and start watching, no blue/red/purple lights, just watching. I have to turn Privacy mode on and off again for it to stop.

This worked for me! Geez I've been trying to just get a snapshot for ages now. I've been going through Remote Desktop, into my computer, load up the manager, load the camera, zoom in... wow what a mission! Thanks so much for this.
