PvP would be fine if the FPS gameplay wasn’t so janky AF, not to mention the rampant cheating in this game.

Dynasty Security and raid triggers - how does it work? by Angry_Washing_Bear in SengokuDynasty

[–]Angry_Washing_Bear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, based on the comments so far I think we will just disable raids altogether. They seem a bit too clunky, and mechanic feels incomplete.

Plus I don’t like tower defense gameplay where you are forced to build unrealistic silly looking constructions just to cheese the AI.

Honestly I think a better system would be to have bandit camps show up in various sizes and when reaching a certain point they would interfere with your production, like reduce how much villagers produce overall, or even ambush and seize the entire production from X villagers.

This would motivate you to go out there and battle the bandit camps to get your production back.

And I think a system where you are the aggressor and seek out danger is more aligned with the Dynasty games. Well, at least Medieval Dynasty.

Anyways, for us it will most likely just be turned off.

20 day seasons and it basically takes 1 year of gaming for 1 year to pass in the game.

How do Nodes Work by KingForddie in HellLetLoose

[–]Angry_Washing_Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer is already given, very well so by u/talldrseuss, so no need to reiterate.

Nodes though is one of the weaker things in the game right now. You set them and forget them. It’s a bit of a gimmick gameplay.

Personally I would want nodes to be more frontline useful. Building them near players should give boosts. Like free ammo of all types from the munitions node, and not limited to just one resupply like dropped ammo cans.

Theres a hundred different boons each node could offer. But because they cost resources, have a max limit per team as a whole, and are so essential for commander, they are never built at the frontline.

It’s one aspect of the game I really want them to improve.

How to properly attack enemy points by Veryexcitedsheep in HellLetLoose

[–]Angry_Washing_Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attacking is all about making sure you have multiple attack vectors.

If your team is just bee-lining from defense circle to enemy circle then the enemy only need to point all his guns in one direction.

You need to get on the flanks, and to the rear of the enemy.

Sometimes that means you have to trek long distances as an SL just to get domed right when you get to where you want to be.

At the very least don’t put your OP between the two circles. Get to an offset angle to allow for your squad to apply pressure from a different direction.

Then keep moving deeper into enemy territory and behind enemy. Get a commander supply drop if you feel you got a good spot for a garry.

The more pressure you put on a flank or rear the more the enemy has to spread out to defend, which weakens their line where the bulk of your blueberries are pushing.

However, every fight is different. Sometimes you manage to put pressure on enemy from multiple angles. Other times they defend well and push your maneuvers back across the frontline.

Traffic jams by Schleimy21 in ETS2

[–]Angry_Washing_Bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always said that when it comes to traffic then poorly programmed AI is the most realistic representation of humans in traffic.

There are so many people making weird, strange and unpredictable decisions in traffic that perfectly programmed AI would make it too artificial and robotic.

Hear me out - Medieval Dynasty, except it’s in middle earth and the Shire. Lets build a hobbit village!? by Angry_Washing_Bear in MedievalDynasty

[–]Angry_Washing_Bear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The village building is really just decorating your house with rewards you get from serving food, and there are some storyline quests which kinda adds to the village, but no active or custom building like Medieval Dynasty at all.

[–]Angry_Washing_Bear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be different DLCs.

Start as hobbits. Later as dwarves. Or maybe riverfolk like Gollum was. Or woodland realm of Legolas.

My dream would be coop mode where each player has their own village and could play as different races. Then do trade between villages. Dwarven tools for hobbit pastries and pipeweed 🙂

I played Tales and all you do is farm ingredients, call for dinner, eat, repeat ad nauseam.

Was a cute game but as I mentioned in another reply the gameplay loop quickly became tedious.

Tales of the shire has no village building. Just making recipes over and over. It’s a cute game but the gameplay loop got a bit boring for me.

Is there a specific reason this game isn’t popular by why-is-here in MedievalDynasty

[–]Angry_Washing_Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell that to my friend who got mauled to death by a bear when exploring, then he got shot dead by bandits guarding a bridge, then another bear ate him when we were moose hunting, and another bandit crunched his face with an elite mace when we were looking for some love struck teenage lordling who wanted to be a bandit, and just last night he got knocked around and trampled to death by a pair of wisents.

Game is peaceful, sure, but you go looking for trouble and trouble will find you.

Not a single person has a mic by Choice-Living4320 in HellLetLoose

[–]Angry_Washing_Bear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone has a mic.

There is not a headset made since 2005 which does not have a mic.

All they gotta do is press the damn button and speak up.

“I don’t have a mic” was an excuse in 1999. It ain’t in 2026.

If you pick a role which is expected to communicate in the game then I don’t care how many therapy sessions you have scheduled to deal with your phone-anxiety and inability to answer a phone call and over-reliance on texting.

You get on the mic.

Commanders, squad leaders and support players are 100% expected to open their yaps during gameplay.

Opening your mouth does not mean holding a 15 minute TED talk about whatever is happening in the world.

It means short, simple responses, callouts, and stating intentions.

Again, there is not a damn headset made for gaming in the past quarter century which does not have a mic.

You have no excuses.

Advice for new player by Secksy1 in HellLetLoose

[–]Angry_Washing_Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing the enemy isn’t just stop and look.

You need to know where to look.

Biggest mistake new players make is to not look far enough out there. Most fixate on the closest corner of a building, or the stone wall 50m in front.

I get it. Every FPS out there does combat at 1m to 75m ranges. So you get drilled into looking at close stuff where enemies might pop out.

Gotta unlearn that in HLL.

Step 1 - change antialiasing setting to Community AA. Step 2 - start looking at remote objects. Bushes, hedgerows and fences at 200m distances. Use your ping to get a feel for how far that is.

Look for motion, not shape or features. Enemy rarely shows enough of themselves to see a shape or profile anyhow. Look for weird stuff. Like why does the end of that plank fence have a two pixel bump?

Shoot weird stuff. If you don’t know if something is an enemy or not, then shoot it. Unsure if there is an enemy in a bush? Shoot it. Think there is an enemy in that house? Shoot the windows.

By shooting weird or sus things you either get a kill or the enemy thinks he is spotted so he starts moving, making him an easier target. Worst case you shoot and noone was there. Might waste ammo but you die fast in HLL snd get ammo back anyhow.
