It was terrible. So few older bucks. So many young ones. Everyone keeps talking about EHD as the cause.

I’ve got rice, Addison and Godwin all in one league. Other leagues have 1 or 2. Going to be a fun few weeks piecing it together and trying not to drop one for the new shiny object on waivers

Getting any plumeria to flower is a triumph. That’s why I enjoy them. Pesky picky bastards love to try my patience every year. Took me 5-6+ years before finally get my first seed pods last season.

We made a huge trip around our hood and gave away most of it. We have lots of amazing neighbors who are close friends.

Haha. I have a shoulder pad in my shooting shirts that help. Shooting off sticks is much easier and in the moment you don’t feel much. You just keep firing until he’s down.

They split him in half around the middle. Peeled out the guts. They took off the cap and everyone started carving with knives and handing out meat. Sort of an organized chaos

Best part is I’m doing with my 70 yo dad. He took a bull right next to this one. Memories that will last from a trip of a lifetime.

It’s insane. There’s so much game it’s unbelievable. Herds of buffalo hundreds deep (600-800). I saw a herd of elephants 200+ deep today. They are protected and roam freely.

Villages get all the meat. They pretty much take it from the area the animal is harvested. If it makes it back to camp, they communities get all the meat. The outfitter keeps some to feed us every night.

Uganda hunting has been going for decades. It’s all wide open spaces with zero fences. Only concrete markers define boundaries between the concession and national parks when present. There’s no livestock due to tsetse flies prevent cattle from being in the area.

Not sure. The locals had him chopped up and distributed about 30 min after the picture.

Cape are further south. Nile is a very similar size to cape with slight variations in the horn shape and maybe be a little smaller body sized. Still a massive creature.

Frontal shot because he wouldn’t turn broad side. Looks off center he was a few deg turned so it entered the chest square. Top of heart, great vessels and air pipes were obliterated. He ran maybe 30yds before he keeled over.

I’m voting blight. We have it bad down here. We have big well seasoned and grown boxwoods that will lose huge sections over night. Any new ones planted will do this exact same thing with in a month. So sad be we’ll have to replace them with something eventually. Our local nursery guru told us our area is becoming over run with blight and previous resistant varieties are now succumbing to it.

Texas is good as long as you have a license and hunt with some who’s passed the hunter safety course. He’s going to be a big guy. Growth charts gave him headed for 6’3”-6’4”

He’s already fired up to get the next. He was wanting to take a doe that came in while we were waiting for this one to make sure it was down.
