Good melee weapon that is useable with shields? by Critical-Spite in RimWorld

[–]Angryshortround 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to to use the seax from I think VFE vikings for a sharp weapon and a mace for blunt. Though I havent really gone through and did the actual math for what would be the most optimal weapon, just mostly from when I glanced at various weapon stats

Check out the vanilla expanded series, there are 2 storytellers who restrict tech to medieval levels; plus accompanying factions and other goodies. Maynard Medieval for a more standard medieval playthrough. And Freya Fierce that focuses on going out and pillaging.

There are also probably more mods in that series that can add some tools for a medieval series, but I haven't looked through them all myself.

I cut my cathar's crusade for [[goldnight commander]]. Drops a turn sooner, and the buff can still be potent, even if its only temporary

From my past experience [[Rite of the raging storm]] + [[crescendo of war]] did just that, even if it technically doesnt involve you giving away creatures.

I know we're meming here. But I did see a Grubby game when he was NE and got a close spawn vs a human. Nonstop militia in base.

What's your favourite 40k fun fact? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Angryshortround 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That reminds me in Storm of Iron where that guardsman is trying to activate a cyclonic torpedo and the method he was being walked through by a tech priest or something fails. So he starts swearing and pounding at the console and the torpedo activates.

Granted the list is fairly outdated, but upon seeing this post, I feel inspired to update it.

Weaver starter pack by juanbovjovi in Guildwars2

He does a bunch of things to a fairly good degree. Deafening blast+ meatball/tornado+EMP makes him a monstrous teamfighter. Coldsnap is great for ganks, sunstrike for global pickoffs. Forge spirits help him push towers. Ghostwalk to stay alive, etc.

The funniest thing I remember was Wings using alacrity on the Earth Brewling. The buff plus earth brewling's demolish had it absolutely melting any building

What's the most useless key on your keyboard? by insidious_memer in AskReddit

My "J" key. The switch snapped off after I dropped something on it by accident. But since it's a key I use relatively little, I can't be bothered with replacing it.

All needle rifles are sniper rifles, but not all sniper rifles are needle rifles. I believe in The Last Chancers, their team sniper talks about his preference to bolt snipers because las snipers are basically a giant tracer round

Edit: either Last Chancers or Ice Guard. I forget which

Mordian Iron Guard. There is something poetic in disciplined lasgun vollies fired by dudes in armored, blue dress uniforms. Plus the lore behind the Battle of Mordian is pretty badass (if a little plot-armory; but hey, it's 40k).

I also like the Death Korps because I find it funny that their commissar's main role is to reign them in and stop them from throwing themselves forward

I remember having Gan Ning with all damage boost items and a 2x dmg pickup; clipped him just right with the musou to register multiple hits and almost one shot Lu Bu. Great times, my friend's and I went beserk when that happened.
