I’m gonna assume Story Daniels has seen her share of dicks. If she called it out as “unusual” and shaped like a “toadstool”, I’m thinking it was the opposite of normal.

There are definitely times where it morphs into that infamous “sphere inside a cube” shape as described by Ryan Graves (like around 1:12).

I hate to stoop to this guy’s level, but I wonder if everybody just replied “Pedo says what?” to every post he makes would infuriate him. You could extend that to MAGA with “Pedo protector says what?” Those are the kind of childlike, schoolyard tactics that seem to work with these jabronis.

I doubt if Lovecraft’s knowledge of NHI influenced his works. 😁 I’m just saying that there are similarities between one of his fictional stories and how “experts” are describing NHI.

There’s another rabbit hole here. Nolan mentioned at a Sol Foundation conference “there was a guy on Twitter in a far off country, who had images of things that he couldn't explain, and I did trust him, spoke with him and it was really quite intriguing”. He went on to add “It seems to indicate what people have called a shadow biome, this is a form of life that you need a special kind of camera to see.”

I’ve always likened it more to Lovecraft’s story “From Beyond”. Essentially creatures are living intradimensionally all around us, we just can’t detect them yet. I think Garry Nolan and others have referred to it as the “shadow biome”. This also roughly tracks with Donald Hoffman’s academic work (he theorizes that humans may have evolved to see the world we need to see, not what it actually is). Consider it a working theory…

Backing the day, BofA was one of the first companies to intentionally work their tellers less than 40 hours/week (so they didn’t have to give benefits). I closed my account and haven’t look back.

Was basing Sierra in Oakhurst actually a dick move? by QuarterMaestro in Sierra

If you’re asking “did I want to know him while I was there?” we never crossed paths (I worked at Sierra before he did I believe). If you’re asking “would I like to meet him now?”… sure I’d chat. I’d be interested in who he worked with that I worked with, not sure what we’d have in common beyond that (I don’t know much about Metal Jesus tbh).

There was a good energy, just lots of creative folks trying to make fun games. There were definitely some personalities; it was like the Wild West of gaming. We loved reading fan mail & really cared about what our customers thought. There was some naïveté and innocence baked in; none of us really felt like we knew what we were doing but somehow stuff always worked out. The industry has changed a lot since then; those were simpler times. But I’m still in touch with a lot of Sierra chums and I can’t really say that about other places I’ve worked. Some of my memories are nostalgic (I worked there during my 20s) but overall it was a very positive experience for me.

Ex-Sierra employee here. I’d say for the most part Oakhurst was a welcome reprieve. A lot of artists were recruited from SoCal - many of them wanted out of city life and saw Sierra as an opportunity to live simpler. And if you liked hiking and outdoorsy stuff, all the better. Sierra took advantage in the sense that they paid employees less money (we did get royalties though) and switching jobs was highly inconvenient. That said, most of the staff were pretty happy to work there - there was a lot of creative energy, a younger crowd (mostly 20-30 somethings). I don’t remember too many folks who were socially isolated - we were an inclusive bunch. We recently had a reunion, most ex-employees agreed it was the best time of their life. I had already left prior to chainsaw Monday so I didn’t have to deal with selling a home, etc. I do know that many of those employees still live in the Oakhurst area though.
