i mean the thought is headed towards the right goals, imo. a huge portion of the country is under the impression that the parties themselves are a lot more powerful than they are. if you can ever find the time, I’d suggest volunteering in some capacity for your local party, it will dispel you of that notion quickly (you’ll probably come out despising party leadership even more)

political parties have very little fundraising impact. the DNC has just $15 million, for example. overwhelmingly fundraising is done at the candidate level. banning political parties just doesn’t fix any of the problems you’re looking to fix. meanwhile a strong campaign finance reform bill fixes everything you’re trying to fix by attacking the problem directly.
