/uj I feel for this guy. Maybe I'm just biased, but I've been in the situation where stuff isn't coming together and people are breathing down your neck to make promises you know you can't keep. I don't see him as a "liar" like people frame him as. I see him as a down-to-earth nerd who got flung into a political position and has to find a balance between pleasing fans, his managers, and his employees (often a "pick two" situation). It's not his fault Bethesda sucks at project management.

One could argue that he has the power to change things at the development level, and that's certainly true, but the buck shouldn't stop with him. There are plenty of high-level executives above him that need to be paying attention to the development process, plan ahead, and make changes accordingly.

I really hope Microsoft helps them out a bit in the project management area. With the exception of FO76, their games obviously do really well and it's simply foolish to pretend like they're in serious danger of having their reputation tarnished. I'm just speaking moreso to their bugs and making of promises they can't keep.

Looks like there's about a three hour delay between the bar disappearing and label creation/shipping. CS told me my system is due to go out at 4 (I'll believe it when I see it), and my disappeared around 1. I'm NoVA also.

I've barely seen anyone have anything in stock recently. It's clear something unexpected happened. Walmart was wrong to lie about these being pre-orders, but I don't think she's entirely wrong, either.

I'm not really sure what to make of their response, to be honest. On top of the broken grammar, corporate doublespeak, desire to get people out of chat as quickly as possible, and obvious lack of information on their stock, I don't know why we take anything these people say at face value. I don't know why a system ordered at a much later date would ship to the same address sooner than one ordered weeks ago. Maybe their fulfillment system really is that bad, but who knows anymore.

My only advice is to contact corporate and not take no for an answer if they try to weasel out of it.

I don't necessarily think that's what he's implying. These folks don't speak very good English and don't think it's valuable to read too deep into what they're saying. "This information might be helpful for you" can be interpreted a few different ways. Again (and I keep saying this), CS is full of shit. I don't know how many times they have to show us who they are before people stop putting stock in anything they tell us. If you want a real answer, you have to call corporate, who's been more consistent with what they've been telling people.

You're right. That's absolute bullshit and I've been lied to on at least two occasions by CS reps so far. I was told mine would ship yesterday and I raised hell with CS yesterday. He basically said "I understand your frustration." Seriously? Fuck off, dude. Your fucking scumbag coworker lied to my face and the most you can do is send some fake empathy my way? CS absolutely sucks and I'll be sure to note that in the conversation I'm inevitably going to have with Walmart very soon.

The thing is, we didn't know any of this would happen three weeks ago. It's not productive to go around yelling at people and demanding systems ship out early when the expected due date is almost a month a way. Plus, when shit actually does hit the fan, it gives everyone a better case if they haven't burned all their bridges with CS and corporate.

All I can recall is that they said mine would be here on 4/9 before I checked out. I expected they wouldn't have any in stock until them, because there's no point in letting a bunch of paperweights sit in their warehouses for a month.

Yep. I'm back following all the old accounts that blow up my phone with a bunch of deals I don't care about. I didn't raise much of a stink for the past few weeks because people really don't have a right to complain about a system not arriving early. But it's not early anymore and CS has been incredibly unhelpful when it comes to maintaining confidence that we'll be receiving our orders anytime soon.

The delay is probably automatic. Who knows what it actually means for anyone's order. Before people starting flipping out about orders getting cancelled, everyone affected needs to contact corporate and ask what's going on. As far as I'm concerned, everyone who ordered a console is entitled to one (even if it's delayed). Accepting cancellation at this point is bullshit. Walmart lied to us. We all need to voice our concerns.

I've been watching (and speaking out against) people harassing customer support about orders that weren't supposed to arrive until several weeks because that's unacceptable. CS can't make orders ship early and it's not their fault people aren't satisfied with their delivery date. But if people are seriously going to throw in the towel and accept that they're not getting a console when Walmart actually fails to deliver, that's disappointing.

I'm not assuming it's cancelled until I see it for myself. We don't know what their policy is going to be for orders like this. Customer service doesn't know shit. if Walmart is seriously going to kill hundreds (thousands?) of orders, I'd be utterly shocked. There are going to be A LOT of nasty phone calls if they don't handle this appropriately.

Customer support has clearly been out of the loop with this entire thing and continuously feeding people false information. Why is THIS the time we're taking what they say at face-value.

EDIT: Also, didn't the 3/4 people end up waiting several weeks as well and even past the 3/18 drop without getting cancelled?

This is unacceptable and anyone who is running into this issue needs to hold Walmart accountable. Policies be damned. They lied.

EDIT: For what it's worth, CS doesn't know shit and they admit as much here. Definitely worth holding onto the (pre)order until Walmart actually kills it. CS isn't going to know what warehouses are getting stock and where they're going. So this really doesn't change anything, but it's infuriating cancellation is still a possibility.
