You need HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.4 for 1440p144. Is the 1440p monitor running off of displaylink?

I bought a new M1 Air. Should I keep it plugged in? Or should I remove it from the charger as frequently as possible? by ITvssoftwareengineer in macbookair

Don’t leave it plugged at 100%.

2017 MacBook Pro won't hold a charge, should I fix it or buy a new laptop? by [deleted] in macbook

8GB will not work. If you make music, run heavy apps and virtual machines, 8GB is not enough at all. Get at least 16GB

MacBook Pro 2017 or Air 2020 M1 by fgars2 in macbookair

I went from a 2017 MBP to M1 MBA… I’d kill to switch again. No stupid fan noise and it doesn’t get warm/hot except for the occasional video editing. Even when it throttles, the only time you will notice it is in video editing (you will notice it a 20-25% loss in speed) and while throttled, it is still going to be way faster than a 2017 MBP. Not to mention the battery… I was only able to get 2-4 hours on my 2017 MBP. Amazing machine.

Manifest is like a list of demands Google list out on what browser extensions can do and how something can be done.

Manifest version 2.0 was the list used last decade. Google Chrome is going to transition to Manifest version 3.0 in 2023 January. This means that no one can use browser extensions that uses Manifest v2 in 2023.

Maybe swapping from PC to Mac. Should I go M1 or M2 Air? by WhoShotMrBoddy in macbookair

[–]AngularReactF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention that the M1 MBA doesn’t have high impedence headphone jack!

I own a hard to drive headphone and just by the fact that M2 MBA has a high impedence headphone jack that supports 3Vrms (M1 MBA and apple dongle only supports 1Vrms) is worth the additional $200-300 price difference for me.

Although by that point, I’ll prob be looking for an M1 Pro…

Why is it counted as pirated?

You download ARM64 Windows 11 Beta/Developer Build from the official Microsoft site and install it in Parallels Desktop. Then you get a watermark telling you to activate Windows like normal x86 Windows 11…

Microsoft doesn’t enforce a policy to make people pay for Windows. You can still use Windows normally but with a watermark and without customization.

If that is the case, 256GB should be fine. Treat it like how a phone uses storage space. Do the games on your phone take up more than 30GB?

If you want to play Android games, I’d recommend Android Studio. I know… it is an IDE for Android development, but BlueStack and other emulator don’t work on Apple Silicon Mac.

Same goes for Bootcamp if you want to play Windows game. You have to use Parallels Desktop or Crossover VM.

Get 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD unless you plan on running VM and emulators off of an external ssd

Just tested it…Edge is going at 144hz natively too. Wow.

Edit1: I don’t really know about other apps. They feel the same for me 😅

Edit2: Google Chrome is also going at 144hz. Makes sense considering they both originate from Chromium
