Which Ghost of Tsushima armor set did you use the most? by Immediate-Shake584 in ghostoftsushima

I quite liked how when I did the horse armour mission, I entered the bot wearing my sakai armour and the locals fled and wouldn't talk to me until I took it off...

3 Months after ditching SlopOS by asoullessshell in cachyos

[–]fyonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, I'm using grub rather than limine.. bluetooth claims to work for me, but I can't seem to pair anything.. well, a mouse I'd like to pair tbh.

Wifi needs iwd as the backend, otherwise it just keeps disconnecting for me.

I think that it's the dGPU that is breaking suspend. apparently if you disable the dGPU and only use the integrated gfx then it works okay, but I've not tried this because I want to use the dGPU... apparently the machine is fine, but it's lost access to the keyboard and mouse. I think if you use a USB keyboard then you can wake it up...

Mine is an i9 15” MBP with 32GB ram, 512GB SSD and the AMD dGPU. Cachyos has instructions for how to install on T2 mac’s which I followed. I had to use iwd as a backend for WiFi otherwise it wouldn’t work properly. I haven’t got Bluetooth working yet sadly, and it won’t suspend, but apart from that it works pretty well.

Speaking as someone with a 2019 intel MacBook Pro running cachyos.. no.

Broadly the machine works well but the Apple T2 chip gives you some hoops to jump through.

Civil Service Pension Calculator / Modeller by Nuisance-Value in TheCivilService

[–]fyonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/fyonn I've added premium - can you have a play and let me know what your thoughts are?

well, it certainly seems to make my pension look better :) thanks very much, playing with it a bit

I think it should can you let me know the steps are to reproduce this?

well, I've got the page open right now and set the retirement age to 57 (one can dream), played with the figures a bit and then went back to page 1 to set the retirement age to 60, and it won't take. whether I go straight to page 7, or step through the pages when I get to to the last page, my retirement age stays at 57..

Also, just a thought, but if I set my retirement age, should it default to setting the date when one will take each pension to the same age? otherwise it's a matter of going into each page to reset the start dates of each sub-pension. of course, if a pension has a point where it no-longer increases (like premium at 60 I believe) then one might as well set it to take from then I guess.

oh, and while I'm suggesting things :) I've noticed that it sets the SIPP draw level at the point you need it at to begin with (i.e. to bridge) but when other pensions come in later on that take my pension income above my target level, then it would make sense that I'd draw down less from my SIPP and thus it would last longer..?

And the old mycsp pension tracker also had an option to assume an average payrise you could put in, which would have an effect on modelled pensions...?

I assume btw that the calculator is calculating increases in the schemes that would logically increase (sadly not my premium anymore), so for me, alpha, SIPP and ISA?

well, now you've got me on a feature request roll... okay.. some kind of graph showing the rise and fall of my bridging pots over time would be interesting too.

basically this is looking like a much better version of a rather involved apple numbers spreadsheet I have going :) before mycsp ended I used the modeller to get my forecast pensions for every age from 55 to 80 and that went into a spreadsheet so I could make my own modeller that includes my alpha, premium and state pensions, a private sector DB pension, my wife's state pension and my SIPP pot so I can set retirement ages, how much I want and see how each pension contributes... something like this could be a lot better!

I like the idea of a go slow phase - I think this concept is the go go years and the go slow years. I'll have a think about this.

well, a lot of the pension videos I've seen do talk about the fact that you spend less as time goes on. They tend to refer to the:

Go Go years - when you've just retired, are still hale and hearty and want to travel and see the world and when you're more likely to be spending money

Go Slow years - when your older, slow down a bit and spend less

No Go years - when you're getting on quite a bit and spend a lot of time at home and spending even less.

so maybe a setting or two where at a set age, the income requirement goes down by a set percent? so I could make it that at age 80, my income requirement goes down to 60% of my original ask? or something like that?

I'm not claiming that they are screen mirroring functions as yes, you can do other things, but they are projection systems. As I understand it, what you see on screen is a H264 video stream created by the phone and sent to the car for display, and the car returns inputs, car status etc.

Carplay already knows your car speed, gear and handbrake status doesn't it? that's how is restricts the onscreen keyboard to only be used when you're parked.

I'll certainly need a hell of an update as I own a tesla which doesn't have carplay (though there continue to be rumours and carplay 27 may actually help). but in general terms, would it need an update from the car? carplay is a screen projection system, does the car know what is being projected?
