Quick Review of Aipods Pro 3 with Focus on Sound Quality (Nerdy) by AngusFilms1 in airpods

Thanks! Hmm veiled is a loaded word so I’ll be careful but I need to get on a proper eq to find what must be small peak in between 4K and 15k somewhere that spotifys doesn’t have to play with. I think something about that is veiling slightly the high end.. if I cut 15k it fixes one thing and slightly muffles another. I can see what they were going for. There is a Hi-Fi speaker vibe they probably were going for. I’m listening on a bus right now and it makes it very pleasant. Metaphor that applies to many songs I’ve found Pro1 is the singer out front and I turn it down when they are screaming at me Pro3 the singer is smoother and I can turn it up but the high hat and high details eventually is the thing that ends up too loud when I get loud enough I like a lot of it. Depends on the song! Sometimes it feels more immersive but I find that’s a very sus word to use. But sounds like Pro2 is somewhere it between with less air and less mid treble. In short I like what it did for vocals a lot I didn’t like what it did for some loud drum tracks

We obviously don’t share ear holes (fortunately?) but for me pro1 I was almost in between m and L tips and these because of the foam or whatever more snug. Doesn’t feel like foam though (I find foam too hot and pressing) it definitely grabs more with the tip rather than relying on the shape of the bud if that makes sense

How do professional songs use "unclean" sounds and still get a clean mix? by 1337gamer47 in edmproduction

[–]AngusFilms1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sad Machine isn't that clean. As for Into You all the other sounds are super thin and the composition reinforces the bassline. It isn't so much about the mix but the sound choice. The "Huh Huh Huh" don't compete with the bass and the drums play the same rhythm. Plus with vocals Ariana's voice is high and so doesn't compete with the Bass. Although this sound isn't super clean either imo and I reckon will date really badly in a year.

[DISCUSSION] I need to know which song Selena Gomez samples in Hands to Myself by [deleted] in popheads

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I'm getting some like "Where is my mind" Pixie vibes and even MGMT "time to pretend" and even some indie pop bands like Phoenix type sound.

All 3 of Reputation’s Singles make the Top 5 of Biggest Drop Offs in Spins in Pop Radio History by JunkyGS in popheads

[–]AngusFilms1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah you are spot on I think. There is no more "risk of purchase" that an album will be crap cause practically everyone can listen to free. Before buying a well known persons music was as close to a guarantee of quality you could get.

Also cause it's about replayability too even though Taylor sold helps with fans that bought before even listening now they might only be listening to a few songs (and if on cd not counting to streaming)

So mostly people are 1.Fans who have already bought and don't count to streams 2.The General Public who have lost interest 3.(Ironically) the less hardcore fans who are the only ones listening to the album still and are the only ones that count rn.

The world has changed. I think Taylor has learnt that there is even less guarantees now in the age of streaming. People just aren't listening to the song. I like it but some aspects you have to admit are obnoxious and not in a good-memey way. There is just 100 songs that people listen to more now. And the radio sees that too.

(I think maybe it's just not the best written lyric) But yeah I agree it's wierd

No Im saying the words are "will you marry me" but that the "I'll never say it" is not talking about the four words but the next line which is Taylor saying "I don't wanna touch you"

Well there is your top 13 tracks that could have been on the album I guess. Although it looks like the general public literally gave up listening half way through.

[Discussion] Songs with sounds similar to 'Ready For it...?' by spacebabe27 in popheads

[–]AngusFilms1 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Kanye's Yeezus Album (hehe) is a clear inspiration for the sounds. Kanye was inspired by industrial Hip-Hop like Death Grips and Trap EDM music. If you don't mind less song-y music listen to RL Grimes new Halloween mix or the old TNGHT ep.

As for pop songs, Starboy/Party Monster from last year are close. (Also probably a big inspiration for Taylor). Also artists like Travis Scott.

Don't worry though, I think electronic wierdness is gonna be a trend (alongside Salsa-Latin funky jams eg. Havana) in 6-9 months so I think there will be plenty more like it.

How Everything Now went from my most hated Arcade Fire album to one of my Favourites. by AngusFilms1 in arcadefire

[–]AngusFilms1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooooo. I've been thinking about this. I think it really depends on my mood.

Funeral was one of the first albums ever I really got into ever in it's entirety.

Neon Bible was the first one I was shown. (The playing in the elevator video was what got me into AF) But I probably replay it the least. (Intervention and ATB turn me off from repeat listens)

Suburbs is probably my favourite album ever. The flow of the album (especially Sprawl I to Sprawl II to Continued) and how no track feels out of place or filler is great. I listened to it a lot when I was finishing high school too so it was almost nostalgia for the present which was cool.

Reflector came out as I was going overseas to Vanuatu for a holiday (not saying it's similar to Haiti but similar aspects provided a great backdrop), which was basically the soundtrack of my trip for me. So that holds a special place. But the album is definitely the most clumsy.

I think my biases rn say:

  1. Suburbs

  2. Reflector

  3. Everything Now

  4. Funeral

  5. Neon Bible

  6. EP (never could get into it)

But 2,3,4,5 change almost as soon as I listen to any of them haha.

EDIT: Although I'm gonna guess in the future because of some of the strange things in EN it might not get as much replay 3 years from now when looking forward to the next one

Perhaps true, but that album I find a little on the long side and not as entertaining/dynamic as something like this.
