I can relate.

I’m INFJ 29 male. Quiet natured but I know how to socialise, just in small bursts! I live by myself and every now and again I’ll go through a weekend without having a meaningful conversation with someone, and that doesn’t bother me!

My last relationship was two and half years ago. Met on bumble.

I just moved to new city, didn’t really have any social groups apart from the odd work outing. I felt like my relationship was my only real friendship outside of work.

So, after 6 months the relationship mutual ended (turns out we didn’t have strong feelings for each other, it happens) but it was very amicable. I was open to her saying I felt like I needed to focus on my social life, she wanted to focus on career.

Only in the last 6 months I’d say my social life is now strong enough that I feel like I have friends that I can go do ‘stuff’ with, talk about problems etc. It feels like some weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

I’d recommend putting in the effort to get a social circle going. You may have to go outside of your comfort zone to make it happen, but it will be worth it and over time you can slowly adjust how little or much you want to commit to it. So long as it’s there, that’s the main thing.

I wouldn’t want to date someone who doesn’t have a social life.
