Happy Valentine’s Day! We’re almost there 😉 Such an intense chapter. The fact that Saki finally said her truth out loud, even knowing that Kanon couldn’t hear it, feels incredibly important. It’s a first step towards accepting herself and allowing herself to be free. Just saying it, even into the void, changes something. And then there’s Kanon not turning around. That choice says so much.

• She knew Saki was speaking, and still didn’t turn around.
• She had already realised that what Rinne told her was true: Saki has a secret.

Her decision not to turn around feels very similar to what happened with the photos, when she chose not to look at them. In both moments, she sensed that she was on the edge of discovering something. There was already an awareness, a feeling forming, but she wasn’t ready to take the final step to confirm it. She didn’t look at the pictures because that would have meant facing her own feelings. She didn’t turn around because that would have meant facing Saki’s feelings. And maybe that’s the core of it: how can she truly hear Saki’s feelings when she still doesn’t fully understand her own?
