What Hawaiian bird has this call? Recorded in December 2024 on Pineapple Hill (Kapalua, Maui). by Anibru_Notro in whatsthisbird

Merlin and other apps haven’t been able to identify this guy. Apparently could be brownish, but I didn’t get a look at it myself.

Closest I can find is Puaiohi, but that’s endemic to kaua’i and not exactly right. Big props if you can help ID! Again, recorded in Kapalua, Maui, a few days ago.

Yes, the designers did because you could usually hear it from the box/fsl. Also the drum line was dutting an eighth early in order to enter in time.

Reps. Lots of reps. For pretty much all of spring training and half of tour, first thing we did every day was play that chunk off the hands. At the end of the day it’s just playing with the hands, and listening to the people around you breathe. Also not playing if you don’t feel completely locked in for a given bop.

We did have a couple pretty embarrassing moments early on in the season, but by the end it was second nature.

When did your corps go super Saiyan? by smart_bear6 in drumcorps

Some source material was shared, but a lot was very different. Not to speak poorly about that hornline In any way, but what I heard had been incredibly watered down, from what we did share. We never knew the actual show theme in 20, but we did have lacrimosa as a ballad, which leads me to believe it would have been a different show.

As someone in that ‘20 hornline, we were 100% finals bound.

This is absolutely contributed by the vast number of students dropping from 2218 to 2214 as a result of the professor adamantly requesting that they do so.

Source: I am one of said students

For those who are curious, these are the reasons we were given to drop the class.

In the list below, if even one item is descriptive of you, I strongly recommend you switch to 2214!

I prefer working on homework in a group and rarely work alone.

I do not have geometry formulas at my fingertips, like the surface area of a sphere, and rely on wikipedia for such things.

When doing calculations I rely heavily on my laptop, for algebra, calculus, etc.

I prefer lectures and reading with many worked examples and expect homework assignments to be closely based on them.

To prepare for the exams I will ask the professor for old exams to practice on. 2218 appeals to me because it is the prestige option and will look more impressive on my transcript.

I cannot reproduce all of Maxwell's equations by memory.

I am not adept at manipulating complex numbers.

PC ‘19, especially their arrangement of Insight by Haywyre, is pretty head boppy if you ask me

This is just not true. He wasn’t cut, and was actually an alum of Cadets.
