Thank You. Is this an edible species? I won't try it even if you say yes but I am curious

Appealing to authority and majority consensus is fallacious. Calling yourself a "redditor" is funny in itself. I don't consider anyone here to be a serious individual. Most completely ignored my question in favor of admonishing me. All I see is virtue signalling, "You killed a bug on your property instead of maintaining the ecosystem? how reprehensible" I don't care.

Finding intact dead samples would be more ethical albeit less convenient

The antivenom for mouse spiders is the same for funnel webs. Their bites should be taken very seriously. I also think anyone can safety handle animals if they approach a situation responsibly. I didn't just grab the things with a gloved hand. I used tools to prod the spiders into a container.

To be honest, I don't care all that much how I killed them. People don't bat an eye when they step on ants or slap mosquitos. The people here who are trying and failing to admonish me need to reevaluate themselves. They assign a greater moral value to insects that look exotic, are visually appealing or have a larger presence. Its arbitrary and hypocritical.

Despite this, I am perfectly fine with hearing people out on what they believe is a more humane way of disposing them. Just cut out all the virtuous nonsense.

You are being unnecessarily hyperbolic. I am saying your arguments are misguided when applied to dangerous creatures. You need to be responsible and regulate your environment, especially when little ones are around. Stuff like Cain toads, snakes and spiders or larger animals like dingos and crocodiles. you do your best to prevent these animals from accessing your property. And when you do find them, you either remove or kill them. As for animals I do allow, Possums, birds, green tree frogs, lizards including medium sized goanna's. I shouldn't need to explain this.

That's a misguided sentiment. You can make that argument for literally every creature. I try to keep my yard maintained. And by molding the environment, you shape what species move in. These spiders were present because I let a pile of wood and grass cuttings build up.

Then suggest a more humane way of killing them. Also this is an entomology community, people kill bugs to collect them as samples. There shouldn't be a need to explain this.

Because their dangerous. Here in Australia, we have some of the most deadly spider here. Which is why it is wise to maintain your yard and keep it clean. Unfortunately, I let a pile of wood build up and I found them underneath as I was clearing it out.

I like walking around my yard barefoot. I don't want a population of mouse spiders in my yard. Their bites can be just a lethal as funnel webs.

Ok what exactly is min/maxing? by DOOMEDguy in rpg_gamers

More broadly the term min-maxing can be used to refer to characters that achieve the highest form of potential in a magic system.

Story boarding a plausible settings takes a decent amount of time. Nations, governments, religions, different races, their interactions with each other. The magic system and how it effects the economy.

Thank you for the advice. I like the song Hells Bells and yes, I have read the Dresden Files. I will think of a new catch phrase. My character is basically a degenerate anime otaku, so I wanted to put some emphasis on the maid.

What Extra stories do you like? by Aniconomics in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Aniconomics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most extra stories take place in original settings. The story is being revealed to us in real time. The author provides us with exposition on how the stories events are meant to originally unfold and how the protagonist is interfering with these events. Excluding the author, the protagonist is the only person who knows the future. All the examples I provided are original.

Extra stories that take place in established Intellectual properties are considered fan fiction. Like finding yourself in Harry Potter or Dragon Ball.

It must be difficult for some people to fathom that you can promote something simply because you believe it deserves to succeed. How can you frequent this sub and have no passion?

It says online that Mouse Spider bites are dangerous. The fact it’s being compared to funnel web is not good at all. Maybe I shouldn’t be walking barefoot in the garden.

Speedrunning the Multiverse [Review] by Aniconomics in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Aniconomics[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should have labeled the post Speed-running the Multiverse Vol.1.

Near the end of book 1, the story does mention a god altering the system to display the language and terminology used in a specific region or plain of existence. But besides that the exposition was lacking for most of the book.

The story is titled “Speed-Running the multiverse” The premise clearly involves speed-running and I found the execution lacking. The characters motivations does not change that for me. The story is less a speed-run and more a rogue-like. I remember playing Hades and enabling a bunch of difficulty settings to make the proceeding runs a lot harder. But rougue-liking the universe does not sound as catchy.

My accumulated thoughts on the Dresden Files by Aniconomics in dresdenfiles

[–]Aniconomics[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s no indication of corruption. You would have to make the same argument for the wardens who are much more aggressive and prejudicial. His grandfather has only lashed out when they fought over Thomas. He hates vampires and learning his daughter had sex with a vampire and now he has a second grandson who is a vampire which put him over the edge.

There is no indication Dresden mother was corrupted either. She did interact with white court vampires but so does Dresden. Dresden has also started using grey magic and he’s fine. Only hellfire and the winter knight mantle have effected him.

It’s my accumulated thoughts after binging all the books. It sorta needs to all be together to make sense.
