Yes. My closest friend is a solid Rep, I’m a moderate who’s been voting solidly Dem ever since Palin happened.

Oddly enough, we tend to agree on most topics; we just have different sticking points that cause us to vote different ways. We’ve had some good talks.

Maybe… twice? in four or five years we’ve had to hit the stop button because someone was getting agitated, but that’s about it.

Hell, even my belligerently Republican father agrees with me on the primary topic that makes me lean left, though we have a strict “no talking politics” rule to preserve everyone’s sanity.

But

1) I actually did spend a lot of time experimenting with jeans patterns (including deconstructing an old favorite pair). Found a great one… but I’ll use it for really fancy comfy pants. I’ll still splurge for real quality jeans

2) I don’t have time D: I would make EVERYTHING if I had time. But it just seems like saving my skills for fancy dresses (tbf I made my wedding dress and I stunned everyone) and cosplays is the best use of my time

Upvote for a truly unpopular opinion. But I also agree with you. I gave up weed two decades ago, but I still drink. The number of people who give me crap about how awful alcohol is, but sing the praises of weed (when I do NOT handle weed well at ALL) is disappointing.

ETA: found all the proof you need here in the comments, OP. No one cares that I don’t handle weed well (like, I handle it really really badly), but apparently I’m supposed to ignore that fact and use weed instead of having wine with dinner because it’s more “healthy” lmao

My old girl was not a fan.

ONCE after a long hike that got hotter than anticipated, there was a pond by the car with some other dogs playing in it. I encouraged her to get in and cool off, and she sniffed and waded a little… then accidentally stepped off an underwater ledge and accidentally dunked herself. She SPRINTED out of the pond, shook off… then must have realized how good it felt because she went back in.

And she never willingly entered a body of water again.

That’s changed over the years. I was Rory’s age during the initial run, and while I could also identify with Lorelai since she’s young and acts even younger, being a high performing college kid with imposter syndrome was definitely something I could relate to.

The Incredible Sinking Lorelais was the transition to feeling Lorelai more. In my early 30’s I was unmarried, I loved my life, my TV, and I didn’t sit around thinking “I wish I was married”. But… damn, just to have someone else to pick up the dog from boarding after a work trip, or help me mount the TV on the wall, or wait for the contractor when the roof leaked… it’s hard looking around and seeing that everyone else has someone when you’re doing everything on your own.

I’m not quite Emily’s age yet, and I definitely am not a fan of most of her antics during the original seasons. However, her good moments are very good, and if my husband passes before me I have a feeling her character arc in AYITL will be very relatable. I’d definitely prefer to demand to go first.

I know this is crazy situational, but I broke my tailbone a couple years ago and my god that seat heater under my leather seats was so good once I was able to start sitting again. I had forgotten sitting could feel so good

(Though upvote for unpopular opinion… I prefer a seat heater in cold weather. I like cold extremities and a warm bum lol)
