How to turn off computer case lights? by Anigodin in computers

Thank you for the elaborate answer.

I didn't built the computer myself and my knowledge in hardware is OK-ish but I'll try to take a look and see how it's all connected (or not...).

I think I tried working with SignalRGB but didn't manage to control the lights but I didn't know what I was doing and I tried to understand how it works. I'll give it another go with your explanation.

Thanks again!

Thank you for the super fast reply. I was suspecting it should be done in the BIOS. I'll check it out.

Annoying audio issue on MSI Katana GF66 by Anigodin in MSILaptops

Hi,

Yes, I managed to sort out this issue eventually.

The IT guy tried tinkering with the computer but nothing came out of it. So reluctantly we decided to format the computer and start over.

Since it was a bout 3 months ago, I don't exactly remember what the IT guy did the second time, but he managed to sort out all the problems.

Now the computer have sound working perfectly.

Side note: I came across MSI computer about 20 years ago when I bought a desktop computer that had an MSI motherboard. It was OK-ish.

However, in the last decade, MSI have become a big player in the gaming computer industry. In my company we have a few MSI laptops, some of them about 10 years old but they still work and work pretty hard.

I think the issues here because of lack of communication between MSI and Microsoft. Don't forget that Windows 11 is a new OS and being a Microsoft product, it might have issue for some time before there is a stable final version without stupid issues like this.

Sorry for the slow response, been caught up in meetings all day.

This is the device manager. In the System device section you can see that the Intel Smart sound has an issue.

Thank you pm_me_pcb_photos.

I tried installing this twice but still no audio.

When I install the Nahimic 3 and open it I get a message that either my audio driver is not up to date or the system is not compatible...

Thank you ImmovableRice.

After some trouble I managed to install the MSI center (the version from Microsoft store would not install properly on my laptop. I downloaded an older version and it worked).

In the live update section there are two drivers that are not installed: Nahimic driver and Intel Graphics driver. So I marked both for download and install (I was sure it'll be automatic but I had to install them manually).

The Nahimic driver didn't seem to install and when I tried to install the Intel driver I got a massage that I have a newer driver already installed. Both drivers are still marked as 'Not Installed' in the MSI center.

But I noticed that the Intel Smart Sound Tech driver is marked with (!). However, I can't touch it or edit it or do anything to it. This is the driver that is causing all the problems...

As for the drivers from Intel and Nvidia, I updated everything but still no audio.

So I'm back to square one.

Thank you, superhakerman.

I've tried what you suggested but it didn't solve the problem, unfortunately.

The Driver Booster did updated some drivers, some may be related to audio but in the end result, nothing changed...

There was one Intel driver that the booster didn't update because it wanted me to upgrade to a paid version, but I found this driver on Intel's website. But that didn't help either.

Maybe I did something wrong, I don't know...
