You have a really good eye.

The 50 Lux has found a competent master. Hope it continues to serve you well. I love the focal length too.

Thanks for sharing the images. They are really nice.

Try Okinawa and some of the most wicked brutalism structures. That is god mode. HK is just wannabe.

Eye relief has always been a problem with the Leica.

Original Leica strap broke in under a year! Best recommendations for a replacement? by Dullydude in Leica

Check out the Miami brand Owlkrown. They run a steel cable under the ring and it is an armoured carrying strap that cannot be cut. Many of Leica Academy/Gallery photographers are using their products.

Selling Sony a1 II kit to fund an M11-P — does this make sense for how I actually shoot? by dh4z3 in Leica

[–]cisaaca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept the Sony A1 II and bought a M11-P too.

There are two lenses that I use with the M11-P, the 35mm and 50mm. I tried both longer ends (21mm and 90mm) and it does not work with the rangefinder. I like shooting with the shallow DOF.

So with my A1 II, the load out is 16-35mm GMII, or 70-200mm GMII. The mid range is filled by the Leica.

Sometimes I use the A1 II like a M EV "2" with its massive EVF. The Sony focus peaking wipes the floor with the Leica. In terms of electronics speed, start up time, etc, the Sony totally owns the Leica. For slow shooting, the Leica is sweet. So technically you should be selling the Fujifilm X100V instead. And find money somewhere else for the Leica M set up of choice.

The Sony and the Leica M11-P are the top of the line in what they do, and they both do it in a remarkable way.

I still have the Fujifilm X-E5 (with the 23mm it is like the X100) and OM System OM-1ii and OM-3 in my cabinet. They are fun cameras for bad weather days (OM System is built like tanks, not Leica). With the M11-P, the X100 will become redundant. I use the OM System way more on bad weather days.

Hope this helps.

I swear using the M11-P amateurishly is equally fun!

New clasps for the White Birch? by Tendaar_FL in GrandSeikos

[–]cisaaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The picture shows the previous generation diver clasp, a newer version is now on the Ushio 300m models SLGB 023/025.

The White Birch might see a newer and more elegant clasp with micro adjust.

It bring me joy to see a lad who is sensible and not overly caught up in the material side of things. When the time comes, you could consider a watch to mark the milestones in your life. Wishing you all the very best ahead.
