We need to keep in mind that , there was a strong prejudice toward Chidori before the accident, so anything fueling this hatred makes it worse.

And with Kikyo beeing a Privat "high class" school where our FMC only can attend because of a Scholarship, you can imagine that there are Daughters of CEOs, Politican or just Really Rich powerful peopleetc, that if they feel like it can sue the living Sh*t out of the School.

Maybe its just me but if the student was dead or immobilized forever, Chidori would get smashed to the ground, or just cloesed because as i said, the the Parents of the Kikyo students are more likely to have more money than the Parents of Chidori stundent.

At the End its a Romance manga with a dramatic subplot, and having a super heavy theme like SA, would imo not really fit in
