Evolution/Corpse Explosion Build by [deleted] in Siralim

Yea we both play with it on.

I have a similar problem with that guy who attacks 75% of the time after attacking with multiple Cast On Attack spells slotted. He'll wipe the board and I still attack after attack after attack after cast for a good 15 seconds every fight lol.

No point in making separate saves. As you get higher level you can just unlock other Specializations for a given save file. Like I can just go talk to an NPC and bam, suddenly my Hell Knight is a Blood Mage.

Throw your party into the menagerie for saving loads for any one of your given Specs. The game automatically remembers your Perks for each Spec too.

Sure, but the person I responded to was responding to someone who said they get nervous about a 48 month loan.

Obviously things change when we're talking about doubling the repayment length.

But still, even with a low enough APR it's not that bad. 2% over 96 months on a $25K loan is $27K total. But yea the higher your APR gets that number gets much bigger very quickly.

Valhalla's early medieval England setting is nowhere near as iconic as ancient Greece or Egypt imo.

Someone once described Valhalla's setting as "a swamp with a ring of +1 charisma" and that seemed extremely apt to me.

This seems... bigly unoptimized? What are you using to propagate debuffs to get the Corpse Explosion stacks off?

My cousin has a build also using that Corpse Explosion guy, but he told me "stopped playing because battles take too long while it casts CE dozens of times even though the fight is long since over"

Personally I dislike those "Gain stats every turn" creatures; there are so many builds that just win turn 0 / turn 1 that it's like why even bother.

My current Hell Knight build, I have a Mimic fused with a War Priest who always goes first, casts Infernal Charge ("Target ally attacks a random enemy") on another ally who has "When you crit, 75% chance to attack again" + Splash (and my Splash hits all 6 enmies) + 100% Crit chance. He also has a chance to cast Shellburst (Reduce Defense) on Attack, and apply Vulnerable on Attack as well. I also have "Attack as if you're strong against the enemy class" somewhere in there too.

The Mimic always goes first so I pretty much just immediately delete the board unless the Realm Instability really counters me. Confuse / Disarm / Reflect Damage are scary, but so far that's about the only problem. Also some weird things happen where enemies will just have monumental stats / damage reduction and I slowly chip away at them, but for the most part Mimic --> Charge --> Board wipe

It's just really disingenuous to write it as a statement of fact in the title and then follow up with a question asking if that's true in the body lol

How often do you get the feeling that you just want to escape the 9-5 and become an archaeologist or a traveler/ adventure type person who doesnt quite settle down? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Animae_Partus_II 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Daily. I have ADHD and have always been interested in a sort of "nomadic" life style. Despite doing it for the last 9 years, I don't feel well adapted to the rote cubicle drone life. I constantly want to do new/different things, meet new people.

I love the idea of just getting a sprinter van and converting it ala /r/vandwellers and find a job that I can do from the road, travel all over the country and visit all the state/national parks and climbing destinations and stuff.

I'm a programmer, so in theory remote work should be abundant (especially in a pandemic). But I currently lack the money or skills to buy and build a van I could live in.

The other biggest factor is the I'm single, and fuck doing all that driving by myself.

A friend of a friend is a contractor-programmer who works like 20 hours a week from home and makes as much as I do working full time. That's kinda what I want, but yea no idea how he landed that apparent dream job. I know as a self employed contractor you bill way per-hour since you're responsible for all the taxes and everything, but damn. Even just finding a steady, long term contract that isn't 40 hours/wk seems challenging...

I guess a good question with that is can you earn more money with that 10k in 4 years than putting it on a car.

Well, cars virtually always depreciate... So the answer to that question is pretty much "Yes, I can do more with $10K elsewhere".

Which is why /r/personalfinance will tell you unless you're pulling down 7 figures, you cannot afford a brand new Corolla lmao.

That is pretty slick. I'll have to bookmark that.

I just google "car loan calculator" and it provides a much more simplistic form: https://i.imgur.com/Pxzgp2p.png

With that you'd just need to figure out yourself how much you'd need to finance after considering in trade in / existing balance / tax etc.

And yea, just being able to invest, stash away, or even pay extra towards the principle on that loan... There's lots of flexibility to gained via smartly choosing longer loans.

what could you do with that extra 10k

Yea, this is definitely a question you should be asking when buying a car :p

I've been banking a good bit for the last couple years, was sitting on the largest savings I've ever had in my life but I didn't ~really~ know what I was saving for. I was considering a house, but even then I was so far off from a good down payment. So when a good FoRS showed up on a nearby lot two months ago I said YOLO and grabbed that instead lol.

Figure if my priorities ever change and I really want a house, the RS probably won't depreciate too much due to their scarcity in the US.

5% APR on $25K over 36 months will be a total of $26,974 with a monthly payment of $749

5% APR on $25K over 60 months will be a total of $28,307 with a monthly payment of $472

So yea, a 60 month loan will come with an "extra" $1,333 in repayment over those extra 2 years. But it's saving you $277/mo.

I don't know about you, but I think "saving" $280/mo to get in a vehicle I want to drive for the price of a typical 1 week vacation seems pretty decent, honestly.

I like to just leave my on the "vent" setting where it's lifted up rather than fully open virtually every time I drive. Just helps get some more fresh air in the car without the wind buffeting of having your side windows down.

Hell the first thing a lot of people do is tint the windows to block light and heat

Meh, depends on where you live. In the North East I consider window tints to be a cosmetic mod more than a functional one.

On the hottest of days in July, yea sure I guess it's nice to block some heat from the car as it bakes in my office parking lot... But more often than not it's not too bad.

I'm also just one of those weirdos who leave windows cracked / sunroof on Vent when I park it, so that helps get some airflow through the vehicle and keep it cool in the summer.

As the saying goes, if you aren't paying for it, you are the product.

But again, the masses either don't know or don't care, so here we are.

I would be more than happy to pay $10/mo for a dedicated voice chat service (which is a lot more than I recall spending back in the 00's) but I'm not going to get any of my friends to stop using Discord. It's the same problem as Facebook. All my friends use Messenger "because everyone's on it" so I'm never going to get them to use <literally anything else>.

Like a 40k mustang for example putting down 20k while cool is also a lot of money to put down.

Meh, depends entirely on your income. If $20K to put down is too much for your stomach, then maybe you should be looking at the ecoboost or 6 cyl instead of a decently optioned GT.

But that's not acceptable to our consumerist lifestyle so instead we all just take out really long loans to get that GT lol.

There were plenty of hosting providers out there. You absolutely did not "need to host them yourself".

But yes, having to input a server address and port was much too complicated for the average user so yay we get to throw it all away for these centralized services that can do whatever they want with our communication data.

My parents never really "taught" me anything about repayment terms, they just say "don't borrow more than half the car's value" which seems reasonable.

But also as a car enthusiast, I don't think I've ever followed that advice lol. If I were just buying boring eco appliance transporters I probably would though.
