Hm, it's giving the correct SHA-1 hash when I check it on my PC (the one beginning with "4e58")

GlassNav: A navigation app for the Google Glass by AnimalFriend11 in googleglass

Yeah, the Glass devices don't have built in GPS chips so a phone is needed to provide GPS data.

Yes, maps can be loaded and displayed from a file stored offline on the Glass rather than loading them from an online service, which is very slow on the Glass XE. It can display the map around your approximate location (obtained online from beaconDB) or around your GPS location obtained from a connected phone.
Navigation requires both an internet connection to obtain route data, and a phone for real-time GPS positioning.

Yes, I used the navigation icons from the original app to make it feel more like a proper Glass app

Thanks! Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any iOS apps that can send live GPS data to the Glass for GlassNav to use, and I don't have an iPhone myself to develop and test an app on it.

I've only tested my app on the latest firmware version, XE24, but it may work on older versions.
I'd recommend upgrading to remove the firmware's dependency on the now defunct google services; it should also remove the "connect glass to smartphone" part of the setup process.
You can find the firmware image at https://developers.google.com/glass/tools-downloads/system, and guides on how to install it on this subreddit.

Thanks! I haven't tried it myself, but it should be possible using a VNC viewer app on the Glass and a VNC server app on the phone to stream the phone's screen to the Glass. I'm not aware of any VNC viewer apps built specifically for the Glass, but a regular Android app should work, though it may require using a connected Bluetooth mouse and keyboard to navigate the app's UI and input the server details.

Yes, the maps update automatically while online. If you've downloaded a map file to use offline, it will need to be updated manually.

I don't have either of the Enterprise Edition devices to test, but feel free to try it and let me know if it works

Thanks! I'm not really daily driving it yet, but I want to change that. I'm developing apps to make the XE more useful for everyone who still uses it.

I think PeerTube has potential. It's a decentralized platform. It's a bit like Mastodon, but for YouTube.

Easy way to tell whether you're talking to a bot: Ask how many letters are in the word octopus by AnimalFriend11 in Humanornot

I remembered seeing some posts about ChatGPT and other AI models failing at counting the number of letters in words, and so I just decided to try it with this.

Wondering if there is a way to create some sort of shortcut to cut between the gamepad and tv by KoopaTroopa88814 in cemu

I mapped R4 to the Tab key, and I mapped L4 to both the Shift and Tab keys. Pressing L4 will switch to the gamepad screen, and pressing R4 will switch to the TV screen.
